Vampire Hunter D Bloodlust gifs, the Marcus Brothers edit. Really wish Yoshiaki Kawajiri did more work. It's such a great piece of animation! I don't know if it's stilll something people watch or know of when they get into anime, but it's certainly hard to find work of this calibre these days.

Novels are worth reaching out for, although they tend to be quite similar in style and plot development, a few really stand out!

Vampire Hunter D has all the aesthetic of Warhammer 40k. Religious symbols everywhere, overly ornated armor and vehicles, space cathedral, guns ans swords, a population divided between fearful and helpless common folks, sadistic butchers being the only efficient force, and monsters of Various power and alliegeance seemingly having the upper hand but facing their own inevitable doom.

The anime is a masterpiece (I think there are two but I know only one). The books are far far more brutal, but I feel it is so unnecessarily. The anime is enough.

The protagonist is a supernatural vampire Hunter named D. He is extremely calm and very blunt, a true Loyal Neutral, and a saint when compared to the other hunters. Honestly watch it. The search for Hope and Humanity in a world that forces despair and hatred, it's magnificent. The fights are also epic, sometimes brutal and physical, sometimes eerie and uneasy. All in a gothic-horror athmosphere.

“Finding Peace”

OY this picture gave me grief - that's what I get for trying to draw trees. Next time I'll save myself the headache and just use a brush. I'm currently writing their story - attempting to finish it and combine it with Netlflix Castlevania. In the coming chapters Julian and D make the decision to change their lives dramatically. As Julian is growing tired of saving humans rom demons only for humans to turn around and shun them for being dhampir. He suggests that they give up the demon hunting life - build a home (castle) for themselves and live out the rest of their days together peacefully. Which is easier said than done but because it's what Julian wants D is determined to make it happen. They go through a lot because of the return of Julian's parents and D's father doesn't make things easy either. But eventually they find their peaceful place. Cavalier as ever - D never expressed his love for Julian but Lefthand always tells him he lets Julian get away with everything. He's willing to change his entire life and settle down in one place because it's what Julian wants. Baring some catastrophic event Julian could potential live as long as any vampire - D knows a good thing when he's got it. But he does question it A LOT. Luckily Lefthand is always there to tell him he's being stupid - that he should hold on to Julian and not let him go - that Julian might learn he can do better and leave him to brood alone forever. Also lucky for him Julian is hopelessly in love with D Vampire Hunter D was created by Hideyuki Kikuchi Julian Elbourne-Link was created by me
