Durham Forest is absolutely 💯 after a rain! Most of the sand gets sticky, but you have to watch for the slippery roots. I was a few minutes late getting started and knew my buddies left on time, so I had some catching up to do. I knocked 10 full minutes of my PR of the Lot to Lot segment and caught up at the Main lot. Awesome evening in Durham Forest with Matt and @willkk ... ripped a hard 8.5km solo before the boys showed up and then chaperoned the lads on nice 7km cruise and the forest. We started on some sweet and flowy singletrack before tearing up the doubletrack back to the cars. The only tricky part were the beaches we had to traverse 🏖🏜 It was surprisingly cool but very comfortable. Shredding some trail with a new crew tonight .. 14 more kms towards my 1,000km goal for August. Nice riding with @armstrong1675, Pete and Shawn. Unadjusted for not killing me guys 😁😁 Taught a lesson in trail-side chain repair 😁😁 It was another great night in the woods! August is the Great Cycle Challenge Canada ... instead of its normal June. Razor needed a bath after that ride! Last night's thunderstorms and rain were exactly what Durham Forest needed. The sand magically turned to mud and grip was awesome! The roots were slippery but it's a nice trade-off compared to the beach conditions we've had. Got Chef @willkk out for his first trail ride in ages! No barfing, lots of grins... he did awesome! Met my pal @staufferalan and some of his buddies in the parking lot and then ride the Outer Loop of DF. Great ride, guys! August is the Great Cycle Challenge Canada ... instead of its normal June.
