Time is something they never have enough of. No matter how much they wish that they had more they don't. They never will have enough time. Not in this life or the next.
It is quite ironic when you consider the fact that one of them is a Time Lord and the other a Goddess of Time.
Even as the Doctor gazes upon Rose, the woman she'd come to love so very much she can feel the time slipping through. If she doesn't do something then Rose will die and she's not quite sure she'll want to go on after that.
As she forces herself to stand up, move towards Rose, and hold her face in her hand and whisper, "I think you need a doctor."
Ironic that time is something she never really had control over.
