I actually really feel for her. She often comes up on my FYP as we have a couple mutals together.

She deleted one of her recent videos because people were leaving really nasty comments making fun of how she looks, saying Mack was doing charity work when he was with her and claiming that he’s upgraded to a better blonde in Will. It was gross.

People also went a bit mad over the weekend and started making videos claiming she and Mack were back together. So I’m guessing her accounts blew up even more, which is probably why she deleted a few things.

It honestly just feels like people were just jealous and bored. The creator of the video won’t take it down, despite admitting she doesn’t actually think they’re back together and people have called her out for being rude and parasocial.

Ella’s usually pretty active on TikTok and posts on her stories every couple of days, so I wonder if that’ll change now.

Anyone who actually pays attention to her account would know she hasn’t been anywhere near Mack this summer. She’s been in the Midwest, and he’s been in Vancouver training. If you’d just gotten back with an ex, wouldn’t you want to spend the summer together instead of being thousands of miles apart?

The creator of those videos clearly didn’t care that a real person would be impacted by it and just wanted views.

Yeah, they appear to have split amicably and remained friends. I think they split sometime in 2023 as she has videos on her Tiktock from August of that year where she refers to him as her 'guy best friend' and asks people if they knew how long they dated for speaking in past tense (she was doing a Tiktock challenge). The last photo she has with him is in August 2024 hanging out with her family.

But he was on Raya literally as soon as he entered the NHL and the stuff with the influencer apparently started around November 2024.

I actually think it's cool that he and his ex have remained friends. They met when he was at Shattuck and we're friends before they started dating. They got together when they were super young and were together for a really long time.

It seems like her family kind of adopted Mack when he was at Shattuck and he spent a lot of time with them. So, unlike some others, I don't think it's weird her commenting on his sister stuff. She would have known her since she was a kid.

I think she's had other boyfriends since so it's nice they can still be supportive of each other. Not many people have the emotional maturity to do that.

ok, so Ella Topp, not sure if you talk about her but what do we know about her and Mack together? Do we know when they broke up and what the reason was? I’ve seen rumours that he was hooking up with someone else well they were together, but never confirmed? But on a different note she kinda looks like Will to me?? Just saying maybe Mack has a type! But as far as relationships go, we know this about Mack but nothing about will? But there’s that one video asking “who the hottest bc hockey player is” and when people answer will they are asked “better at hockey or in bed” and people say bed, so this must come from somewhere, so I’m like what is he known for at bc?? Also why is there not even any rumours of past relationships or girlfriends, like something isn’t adding up! Ofc this is just my thoughts on it.

yeah i always wonder why people make it seem like mack would be the worst boyfriend in the world when he clearly had a healthy loving long term relationship with his ex. and from all the clips we’ve seen of each other they seemed really happy and he was super supportive of her. and everyone says mack is always snapchatting his friends so he’s better at communication long distance than i assumed. i think he just needs to date someone who understands how busy being a pro athlete can be, whether that be another athlete male or female, or someone who works a lot too

will would probably be super jealous though because he seems to love being mack’s main focus rn and he’d feel cold if that attention suddenly shifted to someone else

How do you interpret/interweave Mack having had a girlfriend for 4 years through long distance into the WillMack narrative (if you do at all) or do you just ignore it?

So many fun narrys to explore here anon! Thanks for the ask. One point of clarification I believe they were together 3 years but I totally could be wrong on this front.

First, we must look at their ages. They we're quite young when they got together (14 going on 15 for Mack) when you are still figuring your shit out. Anything you do at this age is not permanent. You live in a constant state of impermanence. Including your sexuality.

Second, they remain close! It was absolutely a healthy relationship and clearly had a basis in friendship for them to have continued to remain in contact after dating that long.

Third, bisexuality is a "real" thing. People are not just greedy (well some of us are but thats for another post). Mack could be straight and just straight up fell for Will. He could be bi. He could be gay and Ella was more friendship based.

The Ella of it all is such an interesting addition to the narry and one that should be added into fics more often imo rather than ignored.
