Skull and Bones E3 2017 Multiplayer Gameplay Demo 🎮
Xbox Scorpio Trailer E3 2017
More Power-Ups!
Alright, so I’m late to this party. I kept up with E3, but unfortunately didn’t have the blog at the time so no place to share my hype. What are you all hyped for?
Below I will put a list of the things I’m hyped for and a small description, along with why I’m hyped for it.
Horizon: Zero Dawn -
An action RPG by Guerilla Games and Sony Interactive Games. It’s being released as a Playstation 4 exclusive in 2017. You play as this hunter/archer, Aloy, and you play in a world overran by robots. Your character, has been closed off in her surroundings most of her life, and sets out to see the world. This game will be played in third person view, and set 1,000 years in the future.
Why I’m Hyped: This is a really unique idea, at least in my opinion. I think it’s super risky, to blend two very different worlds together like this. Especially because it’s not often that a world similar to.... Lets say, The Witcher, or Elder Scrolls mixes well with robotics. I also like that Aloy is another strong female character. They are becoming more common (Example being Evie Frye (Assassins Creed: Syndicate)) but I’m always happy to see more.
Mass Effect: Andromeda -
An action RPG-Shooter by BioWare and EA. Played in third person view, and coming out for PC, Xbox One and PS4. The game takes place after the last three Mass Effect games, and you can play as either a male or female character. There is a new protagonist, who’s name is Ryder, and you’re aboard The Tempest, looking for a new planet for humans to inhabit. It’s to be released sometime Q1 of 2017.
Why I’m Hyped: Because Mass Effect, duh. Okay, so I’m a little late to the Mass Effect party. My friend Tyrone (Theun) got me them after I expressed interest in them, and I haven’t looked back. I like the setting and the story. And it’s a shooter I can play with minimal issues.
Resident Evil 7 -
Capcom is at it again, guys! A first person shooter that touches on problem solving and resource management. It releases for PC, PS4 and Xbox One January 24, 2017. The PS4 version will be able to be played from start to finish using PS4s virtual reality system. The game is set in modern day, and after RE6. You’ll play as a completely new character to the series, and there are no returning characters. You will also, apparently, not have the combat skills past characters have had. There will also be connections to the other games. Very little aside from that is known about the plot at this time. There is a demo on the Playstation Store set for download. Go try it out.
Why I’m Hyped: Here’s the thing... The trailer they showed us at E3 reminded me a lot of PT. I actually thought it was PT. And was saddened when it wasn’t. When I found out it was a new Resident Evil, I actually groaned in agony. I haven’t liked RE since RE4. But the trailer reminds me so much of PT that I have to give it a try. That is the literal only reason why I’m hyped.
Detroit: Become Human -
A thriller by Quantic Dream and Sony Interactive Entertainment. You play as androids. Multiple androids. You’re looking for clues and it’s entirely choice based, and those choices shape the story for the player. The game will be played in third person and will be a PS4 Exclusive.
Why I’m hyped: I LOVE thriller games, and I LOVE choice based games. This game reminds me so much of Heavy Rain, which I fell in love with. I also think it’s really cool that the developers visited Detroit, MI during the making of this game. I was born in Michigan, and was raised there most of my life, I’ve been to Detroit.
Crash Bandicoot Remastered -
Activision announced that they were bringing Crash Bandicoot back, as a part of Skylanders Imaginators. But in announcing that, they also announced that Crash Bandicoot, Cortex Strikes Back, and Warped were being remade and coming to PS4 in 2017. I don’t think much explanation is needed for this, as we all remember what Crash is.
Why I’m Hyped: IT’S CRASH MUTHATRUKN BANDICOOT. This is my childhood. Actually, funny story here. For the last three years when people asked me what I wanted from E3, I’d always say “I want Square Enix to stop lying to me about Kingdom Hearts 3, and I want Crash remakes.” This year, I got one thing that I wanted. I was literally crying when I realized it.
South Park: Fractured But Whole -
An RPG created by Ubisoft, coming out for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. This game will release December 6, 2016. We will control the ‘new’ kid, who comes to South Park after a falling out between Cartman and the others over movie franchises. This causes a Civil War, that we become a part of.
Why I’m Hyped: The Stick of Truth was hilarious. This game happens after it. I think that this game will be just as funny, and a riot. Another funny story! Remember when I said in a past post that I work at a certain eight letter video game store? Well at said store, there’s this thing. A prank of sorts. People call us asking for Battletoads. Well, we always joke that now the prank will be, “Do you guys have A Fractured But Whole in stock?” Or, “How much does A Fractured But Whole trade for?” Or, “Can I buy/sell A Fractured But Whole?” The hilarity.
We Happy Few -
A psychological thriller survival-esque game by Compulsion Games. The game takes place in a retrofuturistic world where everyone takes a medication called “Joy,” that controls them. Our main character, one day does not take his pill and in doing so finds that the world he thought was right, truly isn’t. This game is a first person viewed game, and there are no firearms. It’s all combat melee. The game also will not have any save features. If you die, you restart. The objective of the game is to escape the town, Wellington Wells. This game is Xbox One and PC exclusive.
Why I’m Hyped: This game reminds me SO MUCH of Bioshock, which is one of my favorite series. That and I love the look of retrofuturistic. I also LOVE psychological thrillers, and survival games. I need to invest in an Xbox One, though. And lack of money tells me I won’t be playing this game anytime soon. It does come out on PC, but I am almost certain my Laptop will not run it well. The only thing I’m not super enthused about when it comes to this game is that there will be no save feature.
So what are y’all hyped for? What did I miss? Have any of you heard anything on these games that maybe I don’t know yet? Let me know!
New Best Games of E3 2016!
Here’s a song I made a while back, it’s based on all the ice-themed levels throughout the Legend of Zelda series games. With Breath of the Wild being announced, here’s to hoping the ice areas are as cool as they have been in the past
