FIRST KANAPHAN as EARN/SAND and KHAOTUNG THANAWAT as KHUN/RAY pilot trailer of THE INVISIBLE DRAGON/episode 11 of ONLY FRIENDS
This all began with a few BL keychains and the desire to hang some FK pieces on my wall… somewhere along the way I decided to entirely transform my writing space and create an entire BL wall. And honestly I don’t think I could love it anymore than I do now, it came out so perfect! I thought I was gonna finish it in a weekend, before it got completely out of hand… it ended up taking weeks instead. But now it finally feels like an inspiring space.
I know a lot of people who don’t like a ton of stuff on their walls, but I’m the complete opposite. I want as much as I can fit of the things that I love, completely covering my walls. The less wall I see, the better. When my sister stopped by, she said seeing so much stuff on the wall gave her anxiety. But honestly, I feel like I can breathe again. Didn't realize how much I needed this.
The before vs. the after is kinda insane… but every time I look at it now I smile. I'm already thinking that I want to redo a few more walls in my apartment like this… they look bare in comparison now. Probably doesn’t help that I had to start stealing frames from them, just so I could finish this wall. 😂😭
Or should I say walls… I actually ending up redoing the kitchen wall too. When I realized I had too much stuff to fit on the wall near my desk… I started putting aside certain pieces for that wall. I dubbed this the FK kiss and cry wall.
And I didn't just simply put things in frames, I dug into my stash of craft supplies and made backgrounds for tons of pieces. It became a real passion project. They started out quite simple, just some photocards with a piece of scrapbook paper...
and got more creative as I went on.
This scene was the moment I knew I was a goner for these two. There was no turning back after this. Think FK actually ended up taking up at least 60% of the wall space. Probably more. Nope definitely more. 😂
I even learned to write their names in Thai for this piece. I honestly love the way it turned out.
I started cutting out little hearts to fill in some empty spaces, where frames couldn't fit. It was supposed to be just a few, but in the end I cut out about 100. It seems I can never do anything halfway. 😂😭
Here's another fun way I found to display some photocards I had. Wasn't missing out on any opportunity to decorate.
Not sure what wall I'll tackle next, but I already know it's gonna happen at some point. Of course there will be more FirstKhaotung. But I also want more JimmySea... this piece just arrived yesterday. Still trying to decide where I want to put it.
Plus I want more EarthMix, those two were like quiet sleeper agents that wormed their way into my heart. Loving them in OFDO and I just finished Cupid’s Last Wish, which was so adorable!
Just so you can truly appreciate how much FK is actually jam packed onto this wall... it starts here and goes all the wall to my desk in the corner. Some of it may have spilled around the corner too. Just a little KarnLongtae for writing inspo for my fic... but it just made good sense because My Magic Prophecy and A Tale of Thousand Stars live on that wall.
One last view, so you can see both walls, side-by-side. It really was such a massive undertaking. Biggest puzzle I've ever done. But I'm so thrilled I did it. 😆
This project brought me soooo much joy during a really rough time, life has been hitting waaaay too hard lately. I was so happy to have a distraction, it gave me many smiles over the past few weeks. And now I get to enjoy the results, every single day. So grateful that the boys of BL came into my life.
what do you mean they don't have the specific bit of info that I'm specifically looking for while researching lion dancing and stuff
like why can't google just give me the exact answer, because where will I find it??? 😭
i have a lot of assumptions about the lion dancing culture portrayed in the pilot for TID and how earn is supposed to "become a dragon"
i have now read at least 15 different articles on lion and dragon dancing and i still dunno what "becoming a dragon" is supposed to imply here besides " becoming the top dragon dancer" or something. like, dragons signify power so I am assuming earn's dad means he is supposed to drive them to that position? because he is a boy? yeahhh so I'm stumped, any thai/chinese people familiar with this are welcome to help me out, thank you in advance and my apologies if I got anything wrong 🙇🏽♀️🥹
