USING COUPONS AND DISCOUNTS SHOULD NOT BE A SOURCE OF SHAME
i never understood why (especially in the US) people are ashamed of saying that they are using discount websites or cashback apps... of course capitalism will tell you that saving money is shameful, but fuck anyone who makes fun of people trying to save money, if only for the fact that it makes some people who aren’t used to spending money some peace of mind when buying commodities that they want but don’t need...
two days ago, I bought 15 bottles of wine (which comes with a free $25 voucher and a corkscrew), discounted from 183 to 55 on Groupon, used a 50% coupon to get it for $30 ($25 max discount), plus used a cashback eBates account to get another $25 in welcome bonus and 15% cashback (was a holiday special extra), effectively making it around 3$. I am so fucking proud of getting 15 bottles of wine for practically free because I will drink that wine with no remorse and feel good about it, and it only took me 10 minutes to find and setup the accounts and use them (there is a $30 shipping fee on the website when redeeming it so ultimately it will cost around $35 to get the 15 bottles of wine, which is still pretty damn good imo given that finding $3 bottles of wine in the US is not that easy, and getting it delivered is convenient when we don’t have a car). I am going to post referral links for what I used for this deal if someone wants to do it as well:
Groupon: https://www.groupon.com/visitor_referral/h/09066575-4e8d-43a5-b954-5becfa56a2fa

Also, if you are a student in the US, unfortunately there aren’t many student discounts in the US but some websites do offer constant student discounts for a variety of online retailers... unidays for example offers some really good deals for first few orders on grubhub/seamless (better than referral or welcome offers on those websites), as well as discounts on any order on a shit ton of clothes’ stores, and BUS TICKETS (which is what we use it for the most). like they will generate a coupon code for you to use on demand.
Here’s a unidays referral: http://www.myunidays.com/r/A1iYupRRVHM (you will need an .edu email to make an account)
Finally, if you plan on buying a lot of things from one store (especially clothes), you can get store credit for pretty cheap and then use that store credit when buying online (and often print it for in-store too). the nice thing is also that if you do use cashback apps, you can get cashback on the store credit first, then also cashback on the actual store for what you’re buying. H&M and other big stores often have store credit with over 25% discount from its value (so you’d pay less than 75$ then get 100$ to use online or in-store)
The two store credit websites I use are CardCash: https://refer.cardcash.com/alexandrumahmoud96
Raise: https://geta.raise.com/AMAHMOUD5312
Also, to get cheap food, one thing you can do for websites like grubhub/seamless/etc... is create a new gmail account and use voice.google.com to get a phone number to use on there, then use a referral link to get the $10 or $12 off the first $15 order (although remember if you are a student you can get $15 off the first 2 orders with unidays). you might have to also buy some visa gift cards/use paypal to change payment name/methods. Also if they don’t let you order because of the address being the same, remember that you can change the apartment number if you’re ordering delivery, or put any address if you’re doing takeout to not come up as the same user and be eligible for an unlimited number of referrals. here’s a grubhub referral link:

Other websites that might be useful:
iBotta ( https://ibotta.com/r/qpkqtyr ) gives cashback on both online and actual grocery/alcohol/other stores!! There are a lot of first-time bonuses: I got $22 off a $58 grocery bill which was pretty nice
Some other cashback accounts, also nice to use interchangeably for more cashback and to get welcome bonuses on all:
