Happy Monday everyone!

I couldn’t find a good Jared photo that I could do an edit on so I decided to go with Isabella Bolyston. She’s a principal ballet dancer for the American Ballet Theatre. She’s another huge dance inspiration for me. She reminds me of myself in the sense that she’s a kid a heart. Her bubbly personality always makes me day and watching her IG story inspires me to work hard and reach my dance goals. I would definitely recommend following her on IG.

Anyways, this weekend I went to my first veg-fest in Long Beach. Like I can’t tell you how excited I was for this. I never go to these events because they’re around the times I have school or important family functions. BUT this time I didn’t. So I could hang with other vegans. Besides being at Camp this is a place where I feel in my element. Plus the Word of Mouth food truck is life. Would definitely recommend going if you live around Hollywood or SoCal in general (*wink* *wink* Jared *nudge* *nudge*).

Then my Saturday got even better. When I came back, Jared posted an edit that I made over a year ago (here’s the link to find the original post: https://30-secondstomarsdaily.tumblr.com/post/145961022968/so-i-think-all-this-biking-has-taken-its-toll-on). Initially I didn’t know what to do. I thought I was hallucinating and kept looking at my phone like:

I knew that edit was soaring around Tumblr but I didn’t think it’d reach IG.  So if Jared’s wondering who did it, it was your girl. She just doesn’t have it on her IG hahaha.

Moral of this post? Miracles happen when you least expect it. It’s nice to be appreciated for making the countless edits that I do of that man. Seriously.

Happy Monday everyone! Sorry this is late I’ve been super busy with art projects. Yes I’ve actually delved into this art thing. I’ve also excited myself for a Ballet class that I’m taking next week. Thinking about the fact that I get to learn new combinations makes me smile so big. It means new challenges and transformations will take place. A chance to pretend like I’m in another world so to speak hahaha.All I have to say is this: I am weird and I am proud.

But I do have one question for Jared. It’s genuine I promise: what are you wearing homie? I’m  telling you some of these Gucci pieces they’re driving me up the wall. Personally I like Stevie’s style a little bit better. It’s the classic rock’n roll wear. And I am a sucker for that style.

Then again it’s a Mars show so I have to give it a pass. It’s got me wondering what style choices are in store for camp. Should be interesting to see.

The fact that Halsey qoutes Shakespeare at the beginning of this album makes me extremely content. Yep this theatre freak is nerding out, you have no idea...

Not to mention it’s the greatest track to practice ballet to. Strange I know but let’s just go with it.

Happy midweek!

This week feels different. Not in a bad way but I feel a change happening. And I’ve been embracing it which is something I haven’t done. Ever. In the past I would shove it to the side but now I’m learning to enjoy my life a little. Appreciate what may seem mundane to some.

I’m finding that my life isn’t amazing or spectacular with fireworks exploding every night but I’ve made a life that’s right at this moment in time. It might not be everyone’s cup of tea but it’s definitely mine.

What I’m trying to say is this: I don’t want to be anyone else. I enjoy my own company sooo much. Don’t get me wrong I have thoughts of what it would be like to switch bodies with someone else but I don’t think I’d do it. It’d be interesting to experience a day in their life but I’m still not sure. I think I’d do a day in the life of a NYCB dancer cause...dance. What’s not to like?  hahahaha 

Also I spent most of my teenage years trying to be someone I wasn’t and it didn’t do anything but make me discontent. I don’t want to be Jared because his life seems a little nuts for this vegan dancer/theatre kid. Like for reals. Maybe an hour and I’m good hahaha. This introvert needs her space friend.

Happy Wednesday everyone!

Looks like I’m writing an essay that I actually like. The whole premise is to write a paper on how a contemporary play has influences from realism and non-realism (including absurdism. futurism, etc.). Basically the stuff I actually care about and live for. 

I feel like plays and social media are the only outlet for people to talk about real problems or at least bring awareness to the general public about. Everyone is so scared of being judged nowadays I don’t know what will happen in this little world of ours. My only hope is that we find deep meaning the extraordinary and weird ya feel? Plus we need to lighten up a little. 

But watching Jared go onstage for about 30 seconds last night whilst studying for a Spanish test gave me faith again. That people still care about those without a voice. That being “crazy” isn’t a bad thing. It can be an advantage especially in the profession I want to do. It was a slow start but I still had a great time watching it. Now I’m interested in how the other festivals Mars is doing will go.

Guys I can’t believe it’s March. Wow that was 22 days late.  Whatever it still counts hahaha.

In other news I had the best ballet session ever. Somehow I found a way to practice to Panic At The Disco and Mars (duh? Hahahaha). Looks I’m pushing my barriers huh?

I also realized that I am not bad at dance. There was a time when all I thought was I’d do hip-hop and theatre dance. Truth be told I was scared when starting this whole ballet thing. It’s a dance style that has great respect and prestige. I didn’t think I could live up to that. A part of me did it because I was curious but mostly because my intuition was telling me too. 

Now I know what ya’ll are thinking: Geneva’s crazy and needs help. Pronto. But I couldn’t deny there was something that I could get out of this. Despite the fact that so many people get rejected, insulted, and faltered. I didn’t care. I couldn’t keep resisting any longer. 

 As I was doing this I realized that it’s not about “living up to something,” it’s about showing up and doing the work. Being open to change and allowing yourself to fail. Even though I’m tired, have growing red spots on my feet, and feel like I can’t breathe I just do it. Not because dance needs me. It doesn’t. It’s because I need dance. More than anything else on the planet.

What I’m trying to say is this: Passion leads to hard work. I have to remind myself everyday what I’m passionate about. Otherwise I’ll get nowhere.  Jared said something along those lines in an interview I watched when I was recovering. 

“The bridge between a dream and reality is work.” It’s stuck with me ever since.
