Happy Tuesday everyone!
This weekend was amazing! Seeing Misty Copeland was amazing! In fact, I found myself crying halfway through. I know your girl is kind of a sap lol.
At first, I wasn’t sure why. I’m not someone who usually cries when I see dance shows lol. It actually took a few days for me to find the reason. I realized that one doesn’t need to say anything to evoke emotion. In fact, they don’t need anything but to bare their soul in an authentic way. I had previously believed that you had to speak to be heard. The reality is it’s the actions that speak louder.
On a side note, the venue was pretty big for a ballet. Like that proscenium be LIT. Then again it’s The Nutcracker which means big everything. Plus I got to see adults dance onstage as mice, bubble bees, and other woodland creatures. Who wouldn’t want anything more?
Moral of this experience? Geneva is a sap and is a big kid lol. But seriously, it’s about being authentic in whatever you choose to do. Otherwise your not being honest with yourself or the world.

SO that new song is pretty dope huh? I sure think it’s AWESOME. In fact I couldn’t stop doing barre exercises to it. And then proceeding to do dance improv to it. Yup I’m an odd college student.
Speaking of ballet, I am finally forced to get a leotard, ballet shoes, and tights. Oh and wear my hair in a bun. It’s safe to say that the “pretty in pink” begins here lol. Honestly though, I can’t wait to start learning new ballet combinations. It excites me whenever I think about my ballet journey. I think about how I’ll actually get to “Walk On Water” (see what I did there? omg I’m too sarcastic for my own good lol). Or create the look of it.
What have we learned? Geneva is ready to get on pointe and hear this new Mars album. Like REALLY ready lol.
On a serious note, the song made me think about what I wanted to do for the next few years. It inspired me to stand up for my beliefs and not give an F to what anybody else thinks. I’m excited for this new Mars era and the progress of my ballet technique. Ya’ll will definitely be the first to know when I get on pointe.

Happy Thursday everyone!
The fact that we’re hearing information on the album is amazing. This means that there’s no “soon” and we actually get to hear new stuff. It’s a miracle. Plus it’ll be at camp.
ANYWAYS it looks like I’m getting on pointe within the next year or so. How do I know this? Well...my calves are killing me. I spent a lot of yesterday just resting. A LOT. Apparently the aches will increase when I get on pointe.
Honestly though I’m content with the fact that I’m making progress. Or finally noticing it at least. There was a point where I wasn’t seeing any progress and was like: “oh no.” But I had to let it take it’s course. I didn’t want to force my body to do something it wasn’t ready for ya feel? I’m also enjoying the journey getting on pointe. It’s nice to learn new things and realize that hard work really does pay off. All those releves will be worth something hahaha.

Happy Tuesday everyone!
My ballet classes start today. Whoop! Whoop! I can’t tell you how excited I am. It’s kind of ridiculous hahaha. Plus it’s less than 50 days away from camp. I can’t wait to see you guys. And Jared Leto’s “normal look” as we don’t get to see it that often. At least on magazine covers hahhaha.
But to be honest the Misty Copeland video watching got a little intense last night. There’s something about her movements that I absolutely love. She truly is a prodigy but she’s also a hard worker, fearless, and independent. Things that I look up to as a human being. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen girls my age depend on the other person to come through when they should be taking charge. They think that acting a certain way will get them to their goals but honestly it’s being your best self. And part of that is knowing that everything is going to be okay no matter what.
I had to come to grips with that this year. And let me to you it was tough. Like really tough. Being real with yourself can be hard up in these streets of California.
What have we learned? That I admire Misty Copeland and find Jared Leto’s “normal look” to be a treat. Some weird stuff huh?

P.S. Sorry I haven’t been posting as much. I’ve been learning to take time for myself and I feel up to posting more often. Also I don’t want to waste your time just talking about Jared all the time. Cause let’s be honest I’m more than just an echelon. We are all more than just echelon.

Hope ya’ll had a great weekend. I’m literally counting the days for the next Mars IG live. I haven’t been able to watch them fully because I’ve been busy with family and friends. Then again Jared, Shannon, and Tomo would appreciate that I’m spending time with people I love.
I’ve also been reading them classic books again. I swear this happens every summer. I end up reading a bunch of classic books that no one my age really knows. I guess us theatre kids only know, especially Lewis Carroll works. I can’t tell you how many Alice In Wonderland adaptations I’ve seen. Like it’s unreal hahaha.

Guys I’m so excited for all of you going to the shows coming up! They’re going to be bomb. I can feel it. I never got to experience a Mars tour via the internet in real time. So it’s kind of cool to see it all happening.
In other news my Tulle skirt is almost done. It’s taken me a century to make it because I want to make sure I do it right. It’s mainly for me because I want to practice my ballet in it. Therefore it’ll look a tad scrappy and not perfect. But the next thing I’m sewing is for actual day to day wear.
Okay it’s late and I’m tired. Yes I am a tired artsy kid. An artsy kid who’s listening to too much rap.
