I've realized that lately, my taste in (fictional) men has gradually gotten more unhinged and feral, as in the men themselves are unhinged and feral. So,I was trying to think of why, when some ladies I've kinned over the years popped into my head, along with their male companions, sometimes love interests, sometimes just friends, and...oh. oh no

like, what do you mean he's the first person in existence with not one but two biological fathers? Three total biological parents. One was the severed head of a 121 year old British vampire and the other was the decapitated body of an English nobleman the vampire head attached itself to?? So his dad had been dead for 100 years when he was born?? 😭🙏 Wouldn't even be possible without the vampirism. He has 4 total half brothers he has no idea about, one of whom was a decorated world war one pilot, also dead long before he was born. At the age of just 15 in Golden Wind, he had;

A nephew in his 80s

Two great nieces, one biological, one via adoption, one is in her 60s (roughly idk Holly's exact age so I'm guessing) and the other is 2

He has a great nephew a few years older than him

He has a great-great nephew is his late 20s

And a great-great-great niece who's roughly about 12 at that point? (edit: after doing some math, if correct since it's not my strong suit, Jolyne actually would've been about 9 during Golden Wind)

....and he has no idea. None. Only family he's known is a neglectful, uncaring mother, a physically abusive step father who'd hit him just for looking at him and the mysterious Mafia man who looked out for him and was honestly the best of the bunch but always kept his distance so he would've never been able to form an actual relationship with him. Kid's been on his own since he was born and he has all this family, some dead, some still alive, not to mention just how crazy it all is, and he doesn't know. Not to mention, Lisa Lisa could still alive! There's no death date for her anywhere! There's no biological connection there but she's still his sister in law, right? Or, maybe that doesn't count anymore since George II died but still! She could at least tell him about his brother. I'm going to eat a pillow.

now that we know that Jax was friends with Kaufmo, I can't help but think about how Pomni shares similarities not only to Ribbit but him as well, the whole clown/jester thing, at least. wonder if that's why he insists on calling her a clown. wonder if Kaufmo saw in real time how he changed after Ribbit's abstraction...
