I can't believe a month has gone by SO fast! This is the last post for the #eatcaptureshare ( #ecsw20 ) winter challenge hosted by Kimberly @thelittleplantation Today's final theme is Middle Eastern food. I shot this today, on a day where I honestly feel like I once again lost my photo mojo. But, no matter what, I wanted to make sure I posted something, because I wanted to express how much I loved being part of this challenge. I have seen Kimberly's challenges for a while now, but this is the first time I actually participated. It was such great fun to see what other people create with specific themes in mind, and to connect to some new people all over the world. She has created such a great community, and I have loved being an active part of it this month. I've been sharing alcohol and snack food all week long! And, I don't even eat like that! 🤣🤦🏼‍♀️ So, let's come back to something at least homemade, so that it lands on the healthier, and non-processed side of things, shall we? 👍 As part of the #eatcaptureshare ( #ecsw20 ) challenge hosted by @thelittleplantation, today's theme is the Mediterranean, and preferably a #processshot. So, today I am bringing back another one of my photos from my #pasta shoot I did a few weeks ago. In the last photo from this shoot, where I shared the picture of the egg well, I talked about what it meant to me, creating it with my mom as a child. And how fascinated I was by the concept of an #eggwell Now, you get to see me create it, as I drop the first of the eggs into the flour well. Hello there! Hoping everyone is doing well on this February Tuesday. Valentine’s is around the corner, and I am seeing pink everywhere, but alas, I am not following along with that beautiful trend. Not today, anyway! 😂 Today I am coming out from the deep blue underwater image I shared yesterday, and bringing us instead to share in the delight of purple! Also, I feel like we also more in the stars now, because the falling salt looks a little like that against the backdrop. Hi Everyone! I hope you are enjoying your weekend so far. I am actually starving at the moment, so I am def going to go chow down on something after this post goes out! 🤣 Today's photo is my submission for the #eatcaptureshare ( #ecsw20 ) Instagram Challenge hosted by @thelittleplanation We were supposed to embrace the artist, Kahlo, as inspiration, to create a photo that shares a bit of who we are with the world. To be honest, I think what is missing, is a camera sitting right on top of that book! But, I didn't think about that until after I finished shooting. Go figure! 🤦‍♀️ Honestly, it's not the most favorite picture of mine that I have shot. Mainly because I couldn't get it absolutely perfect, as there is only so much space in my tiny second bedroom to place lights. However, I do feel like I accomplished the task, and that you do get to see a bit of who I am in this photo. What do you think? Did I achieve the goal? As always, scroll for BTS. Hi Everyone! Happy Thursday!!! We are so close to the end of the week, and I have so many photography plans for the weekend. But first, a photo lesson!!! Yay!!! 🥳🥳🥳 Okay, first up, today's photo is my submission for the #eatcaptureshare ( #ecsw20 ) Instagram Challenge hosted by @thelittleplanation We were supposed to embrace the artist, Vermeer, as inspiration to utilize use of shadows & light. I actually grew up with the painting of "The Milkmaid" in my house, so I associated Vermeer's work with an activity, where someone is doing something. Oddly enough, for a photo where we were supposed to embrace shadow & light, this is one of my less moodier photos. Go figure! 🤦🏼‍♀️ But here comes the #phototip of the day. Photo 1, my choice for this challenge is utilizing a godox umbrella with grid, where there speedlight is actually facing outward. Photo 2, utilizes a mock softbox, where I removed the grid & placed diffusion paper in front of the umbrella. Notice the difference in the two images where the one I chose has much harsher light & shadow than the one where the softbox was used. Neither version is wrong. It is about the look and feel you as a creator are going for. So, if you are struggling to get the exact light you are looking for, but you are getting it to shine in the right location, try changing up your modifiers and seeing what happens! Good morning! Happy Tuesday! It's been a while since I've done one of these big splash shots. Probably since my pear or Perrier shot from a while ago. Today's photo is my submission for the #eatcaptureshare ( #ecsw20 ) Instagram Challenge hosted by @thelittleplanation We were supposed to embrace the artist, Miro, as inspiration and utilize primary colors; red, yellow, and blue. I have known for a few weeks I was going to use some apples, but when I approached this shot I actually wanted an apple floating in water. Alas, I don't have a transparent vessel, yet, to do that shot. So, I opted for this instead. I did try some shots with a bite taken out of the apple, or ones with a core, but to be honest, instead of giving it character and adding to the composition, it actually just looked gross! 🤦‍♀️ 🤣Clearly a pro food stylist is required for a not gross-looking apple bite 🤣 In other updates, last night when I went to go upload a photo for Joanie Simon's, @thebiteshot, quick fire challenge, I went onto YouTube to find the link, and discovered James Corden's Carpool Karaoke. Apparently it is quite popular, but I had not heard of it before. So, while I should have been sleeping, I ended up binge watching several of those clips.
