So... I wanted to draw something for Eda's Requiem 4th aniversary!

Late? Yes. Do I give a fuck? No.

Happy to share my piece for the 2024 TOH calendar I was a part of!

i'll just be staring at the wall and then i remember that Eda was FULLY READY to sacrifice herself in order to help stop Belos's plan and die alongside Raine, and that the only reason she DIDN'T was because Raine accidentally found out that that Eda had kids (AND A GENUINE REASON TO LIVE) and sent her back to support & protect them, not only pushing her to back to safety but JUSTIFYING EDA'S DOUBTS OF HER IMPORTANCE IN LUZ AND KING'S LIVES...... and THEN, when it became time for the both of them to actually fight during the day of unity, it was Eda's kids (luz and king my beloveds) who made sure that Raine would support & PROTECT Eda with all that they could, AND FINALLY in the end it was RAINE, EDA, KING, AND LUZ who ended up STOMPING BELOS TO DEATH. (im sobbing i love them all so much)

I haven't posted about the owl house in like five billion years but god can we talk about eda's requiem for a moment please. okay so eda and raine were about to straight up kill themselves for the sake of the rebellion, like it may have been a heat-of-the-moment decision but we may not make it out of this ourselves yeah it's still unambiguously a suicide pact. and then raine's terrified voice saying "you have kids?!" because that's the thing that made them stop. the idea that they were taking eda away from a family who loves her.

but. but but but. do you ever think about how that being the line raine wasn't willing to cross means they probably don't have a family of their own? do you ever think about how raine was ready to drop everything and die next to a woman they hadn't seen in decades? do you ever think about raine saying they probably need you more than you realize as if they knew from experience? we don't have nearly enough information on raine's past to draw a plausible conclusion from this but GOD the picture it paints. I'm going to be thinking about this for the next three hours btw
