When Buck and Tommy talked for the first time two months into the break-up and Buck told him “I want you to be happy” he wasn’t lying, per se. He just kinda sorta meant he wanted Tommy to be happy with him .
Not with some loud, muscled up, Italian man that clearly couldn’t treat Tommy with the gentleness he deserved.
That much was clear to Buck from where he was not-quite spying on his ex-boyfriend at the neighbourhood grocery store that he only really goes to anymore in hopes of running into said ex.
He did not expect to someday run into Tommy’s new boytoy though.
Well. Old man toy.
Boy was stretching the facts a bit too far. This dude was old. He had none of the youthful bashfulness that Tommy was always saying he loved about Buck. What did Tommy see in this guy, anyway? He was loud and brash and all aggressive bluster that was honestly so unnecessary for a Wednesday afternoon grocery store run.
“Are we just gonna follow them around or..?”
“Shush,” Buck says, swatting at his best friend as he does. “They’ll hear us!”
