#EDSFitTip - a good #physicaltherapy program for #Hypermobility should include exercises that strengthen your entire body, but also heavily focus on strengthening the muscles of the neck & head (i.e. the top of the spine) and down the entire spine including the pelvis. This was my new neck exercise today in #physiotherapy after working for a year to strengthen my neck and my entire spine. PT should be a compliment to what you do at home or on your own. I still have a lot to improve upon and work on, but consistency is key. This exercise is a very advanced exercise for the neck and should not be done without guidance. I'm still figuring out how to know if I'm doing it correctly. However, it is a very effective exercise for the neck. The key to neck strength is to make sure to strength the "ab muscles of the neck" - the front of the neck and not just the muscles on the back of the neck. Those are the ones that get tight, pull and cause a ton of problems. If the front neck muscles are strengthened, then the back neck muscles don't have to work so hard. Then, the head and the neck are strong all around, therefore providing stability and helping alleviate many symptoms. #LiveEDSStrong #just5minutes #OurStoriesOfStrength #EhlersDanlosSyndrome #InvisibleIllness #ChronicPain #Spoonie #fitmom #fitfam #ChronicIllness #fitnessaddict #fitspo #workout #instahealth #healthychoices #active #strong #EDSStrong #instagood #determination #lifestyle #edsathletes #healthcoach #exerciseismedicine #wellness
