✨HAPPY 40TH LEGEND OF ZELDA! ✨

When I was young, I got my first Zelda game, Wind Waker.

A little world that quickly became part of mine. As a matter of fact, it was how I learned to read.

I was in the mall one day and in the corner of my eye, saw a little rubber keychain of link with a bunch of weapons. My little world expanded. It was real. I begged my parent for it. They chuckled and paid for it.

I hung it from my ceiling fan and looked at it every night for many years. A little constant. A reminder. A charm.

As I grew up and learned I liked art. I had a silent promise, I would never try to draw this image until I felt I could do it justice.

I don’t know if I did. But for the 40TH anniversary of a game that has so positively affected my life- I can’t think of a higher praise or respect.

Thank you Zelda, for teaching me to read, to draw, and have adventures. Here is to many more!

(As I was drawing this, I think that this will be the first piece of something larger. But this means a lot and I wanted to celebrate with you all.)
