One of the interesting things with having Les Miserables be my main fandom is that, in contrast, all other shows/books/movies seem fairly light-hearted by comparison. 

I mean, even in things like Attack on Titan and Supernatural, most of the major characters and a good portion of the minor characters survive. (I may be a little biased when I say "good portion" because literally three major characters survive Les Miserables and the only minor ones who make it out are the ones who get maybe two lines and one appearance)
