Just making my life's work makin new refs
I gotta get in on this: a theme for Ehn? (mathemagiks, this is just my main blog)
This took quite a lot of pondering. I tried to reflect upon the things that make me think of Ehn, especially things that have a connection with tomes, ink and arcanists. So I kept going back to the Dravanian Hinterlands themes, such as The Silent Regard of Stars and Ink Long Dry.
However I also associate Ehn with the kind of reluctant heroism he demonstrated in The First, so I did peruse a lot of the themes from Shadowbringers as well.
So I settled on From Mud, which (aside from the slightly unfortunate title) combines those themes. It's not bombastic, but it does have some heroic elements and it also has a reticence which I associate with Ehn's personality.
So maybe not obvious (as usual), but it's where I ended up!
