I've been watching Almost Paradise starring Christian Kane since I saw Dean Devlin plugging the Electric Now app on Bluesky.
First, the app: you don't need an account at all, and it has all the Leverage and Leverage: Redemption seasons as well as The Librarians and a bunch of other stuff I haven't looked much into yet. It's ad-supported, but my tablet seems to choke on them and it's just a matter of backing up and going back into the video real quick. They do play on my TV but it's nothing I'm not used to on other platforms. There doesn't seem to be a paid option, but you can purchase individual shows to keep. I haven't dug into what exactly 'keeping' them means.
Now, the show. If you like Leverage, you'll probably like Almost Paradise. It's by the same people and Christian doesn't play Eliot but he's also playing his strengths so you'll see him fighting and being badass, while also being more goofy. The rest of the cast is all Filipino, and I enjoy them a alot. He plays a former DEA agent who had to quit due to hypertension, so he decided to take his pension and buy a gift shop in Cebu where he runs into the local cops and ends up helping them on cases.
It's a cop show with Leverage DNA.
i like to put on live tv to help me fall asleep because it won’t turn off after a certain amount of time and my current go tos are the leverage channel (the channel that only plays leverage) and the electric now channel, which also mostly only plays leverage, but occasionally will throw in the same six episodes of the librarians, the outpost, or what it’s currently showing: a dramatic film about lyndon b johnson.
