“Good morning patient 204!” I announce cheerfully as I enter your room to see you restrained to your bed, looking as if you’re struggling to pull yourself out of sleep. “Still a little groggy?” I ask snapping on a pair of bright blue gloves and coming to stand by your head. Pulling one eye open at a time to shine a light in and examine each. You’re always “a little groggy” in the mornings, and the rest of the day. It’s a side effect of your medications. You seem to never be quite sure if the world you’re living in is real or just a dream. I take a moment to check the many machines and pumps sustaining your frail, confused form. I disconnect you from your overnight tube feed, not that you notice what I’m doing behind you. You’re roused from your thoughts again as the head of your bed is raised so you’re in a position more akin to sitting up. I roll over a stool to sit by the side of your bed in your line of sight. “How are we feeling today?” I ask taking hold of your one of your hand in its position restrained to the bed. Poor thing, it takes you a while to collect your thoughts. I can see the wheels turning, you’re trying so hard! “…tired” was the best you could come up with. “I know sweetheart, you’re so ill, it makes sense you’d be so so tired. Can you be a good pet and answer a couple of questions for me?” I rub comforting circles on the back of your hand with my thumb, the gentle stimulation encouraging you to stay awake and present in the room with me. You nod. “Thank you. Can you tell me where we are?…Good job! What about my name, can you remember that?” I ask moving one hand to cover my name tag. Poor thing, you’ve been here for how many months and you still have to scrunch your brows and think this hard? “Doctor…Doctor…Larch?” It was more of a question than an answer. “There you go! I’m Doctor Larch, good job. You’ve been in my care for quite some time now.” I’m taking notes onto a clipboard as we talk, making notes about your memory decline, your foggy state, how quickly your eyes glaze over if I loose your attention briefly.
*snap* *snap*
You’re roused yet again by gloved hands snapping in from of your face, calling you to attention. “Are you still with me?” I see your eyes follow my voice to look me in the eye again, knitting your brows together in concentration. “Can you follow my finger for me? With your eyes, try not to move your head.” You obey but your eyes move slowly, gaze unfocused. “Good job!” I reward as your eyes start to close, even this was a tiring activity for you in this state. I put a hand on your shoulder, giving you a gentle squeeze “Alright sweetheart, let’s get you to the treatment room. You’ll feel better soon, a couple more rounds of ECT and you’ll feel better than ever!” You nod your head slowly but I’m not sure that you actually heard what you’re agreeing to said, that’s no matter, I’ve already kicked the breaks on the bed and we are moving into the hallway. You’re watching the white tiles and lights pass overhead as you’re transported through familiar corridors to a room you’ve been in many times before, although I’m not sure if you can recognize that in this state.
It’s okay, we will make you all better. “Can you open your mouth? Good job.” You have reached a point where you no longer fight when the bite block comes down, I don’t think you even think twice about obeying every word your Doctor says. Such a good docile patient. It’s a shame you’re showing no signs of recovery, but that’s okay. I have no problem looking after you as long as it takes. You’re in the best of hands. “Alright sweetheart we are ready to begin, just bite down and it will be over soon.”

All of the trials below during the Electroshock event will have the following variators:-
MANDATORY SECONDARY OBJECTIVES: secondary objectives must be completed before leaving a trial.
CHIEF OF POLICE (new): Leland Coyle gets an upgrade! He now does AOE damage, has better vision in darkness, moves faster while patrolling and chasing, and does more damage. Coyle will replace the prime asset of the trial unless the Leland Coyle variator is on. In which case, he’ll just replace the Ex-pop like normally does when added into other trials.
SHOCK THE SNITCHES (new): more Snitches have appeared and need to be taken care of. This is a secondary objective where there are a bunch of Victims strapped into electric chairs with a screen gauge and battery slot. Insert enough batteries to fill the gauge as the Snitch gets electrocuted to death. An infinite battery-dispenser will spawn too if there isn’t already one on the map.
MK CHALLENGE: MELT THE SEX DOLLS
“You are the bone saw that amputates innuendo and mangles immodesty. Sex dolls are shamelessly displayed throughout the fun park so you must shamelessly crush them. Liquify them to protect innocence.”
Infiltrate the Fun Park (Sewers): you spawn at the root canal facing the outdoors.
Fix the Pipes: use a map planted at the entrance to find the pipes and turn the valves in a math puzzle, just like Kill the Politician, to get the right pressure.
Melt the Sex Dolls: at various booths, there is a pump and a pair of squirt guns. Use these to liquify the sex dolls on display with acid.
Get to the Exit Gates.
Wait for the Shuttle.
Leave the Trial.
MK CHALLENGE: SPIN THE WHEEL
“Evolution is just as much about luck as it is about ability. Those who can stack the chips in their favour are effectively gods in the natural world. Rig the game. Spin the Wheel. And we will let you out.”
Infiltrate the Docks (Casino Boat): you make your way from the intro location in Poison the Medicine to a Casino Boat where you find a large prize wheel with a corpse tied to it, the ‘Win Big’ section in between its legs.
Rig the Game: by the wheel are four black light torches and a bunch of monitors with symbols. There are bodies around the docks and boat that must have the black light shined onto them to reveal what symbol is on them. Collect the keys to the wheel’s pull switch.
Spin the Wheel: hit the button to spin the wheel and pull the switch at the right moment to stop it right at the Win Big section.
Get to the Exit Gates.
Wait for the Shuttle.
Leave the Trial.
MK CHALLENGE: OVERDOSE THE ACTRESS
“Chemical encouragement is more than common in the acting business. Exalted hookers will gladly consume the poison to sustain their careers. To sustain their lives. To sustain their deaths. Overdose the Actress. And we will let you out.”
Infiltrate the Tellevision Studio (Basement): you spawn at the entrance to the TV Studio and make your way to Set 2 where you find a Victim, the Actress, strapped to an upright gurney in a scene set in a spaceship.
Set the Scene: same as Silence the Idol, you move the pieces to the right locations, which includes a large, empty vat with needles pointing towards the Actress. Do the lights and switchboard puzzle.
Fill the Vat with Heroin: around the map, and hidden behind some battery-powered gates, are jugs of heroin (acts just like poison) that you need to deliver and pour into the vat. Once the vat is full, flip the lever to inject the Actress with heroin until she ODs.
Get to the Exit Gates.
Wait for the Shuttle.
Leave the Trial.

AITA for killing my girlfriend, pleading insanity, and then breaking out of the infirmary they tried to keep me in?
So I was on a trip to Hawaii when I met this beautiful woman, we’ll call her S. She was so pretty and we really hit it off. It was such impossible bliss.
The trouble came when we were in the forest.
I was in the middle ground looking for the flowers in the garden, looking for the fountain of infinite mirror.
I saw shadows, but no-one was there. Murders of murderers living in fear.
Next thing I knew S was dead and I was brought in front of a judge to decide my fate.
Let me explain, my brain had claimed its glory over me. I’ve a good heart- albeit insane. I am just a boy, you see!
So they sentenced me to the infirmary where I underwent electroshock therapy.
I saw towers and a space station and a ladder to heaven and a Time Machine, and I realized I had to get out of there.
AITA?
UPDATE: I am stranded in the ocean. I think I’m dying. Im alone at the edge of a universe, humming a tune… I hear a siren sound like the goddess who promises endless apologies of paradise.
I suppose this is the end.
AITA?

Hmm, electro shock therapy, always nice. Dann, between that and the most likely lobotomized Niffty they've got the worst of psychology going around.
I hate to be the one pointing this out, but it might help Lucifer.
So just, take a deep breath and don't incinerate me.
But Vox might know something. The guy's whole schtick is electricity and before he and Alastor became enemies they were friends.
Hard to believe Al never had a similar reaction like that because of Vox.
Sitting in a comfy armchair in the library isn't half bad. He should do it more often, the king thinks.
Lucifer: “Well electroshock therapy wasn't a thing until the late 30s. But what did apparently already exist was just electro therapy. But it shouldn't be that high if a voltage to cause pain..."
He grimaces when he looks at the books. What
Lucifer: “Fuuuck. I really don't want to go to Vox about this… but shit yeah, he might know something…”
A theory on why labyrinth was sang by people that are anything but joe hawley
Many theorize Simon was escaping from his own mind and insanity in labyrinth (my personal theory is that simon was trying to escape from the infirmary itself but couldn't because his insanity led him to poor orientation, somewhat hinting the tragedy of drowning in the sea) but we all agree on one thing
Electroshock therapy messed simon's brain
to the point of he not being quite sure if he's even himself anymore
and since labyrinth is like, peak mental illness (without counting the mind electric) it may has been sang by other people that is not the main singer of simon because simon does not feel quite like simon, you know?
That or it just came out of Joe hawley's ass to do that switch of singers
