When I was younger I had an irrational fear of elevators because I’d heard a bunch of stories about elevators falling down the shafts, and it scared the absolutely shit out of me. My parents had to point out the registration of the elevator to get me get on cuz they said the registration proved that the elevator was safe to go on and would not fall.
