Is it cheese… or is it yogurt? Who cares! Elli Quark has 14 grams of protein in each serving of flavored quark and 17 grams in plain! If that isn’t the perfect post-workout snack, then I don’t know what is. Besides the high amounts of protein, each serving is only 80-90 calories. As soon as I came across Elli Quark, I knew I had to try it. They were kind enough to send me each flavor of quark (Bananas Foster, Blueberry, Cherry, Lemon, Mint Chocolate, Peach, Plain, Pineapple, Red Velvet, Sea Salt Caramel, Strawberry, and Vanilla Bean). If the protein hasn’t sold you already, Elli Quark is also made with non-gmo ingredients, is gluten free, vegetarian, kosher, and is 0% fat! When I first tried the quark, I noticed there’s a pasty taste and a very odd after taste. I thought maybe it was just the flavor I had tried but I noticed the next flavor had the same paste-like taste and weird after taste. I personally couldn’t stand the after taste so I had to think of what I could possibly do with all this quark without letting it go to waste! Then, it hit me. If I still want to take advantage of the high amount of protein for after workouts, I can just use these in a smoothie! I attempted to make a smoothie and after a couple of trial and errors, it came out perfect. No more odd after taste; just a delicious smoothie with over 14 grams of protein.
Overall, I don’t see myself eating the quark alone, but I do see myself buying it in the future for delicious, protein-filled smoothies. So, if you’re in need of another source of protein, definitely try Elli Quark alone and in a smoothie to see what works best for you!
