2012 Leo x Fem!Reader

AN: It took me embarrassingly long to get into the flow with this one and I actually had to scrap about 200 words in the beginning ߹𖥦߹ anyways I hope you enjoy this @jakiicomics ٩(>ᴗ<)و

At first, he would be a bit taken aback by your new look simply because he doesn't have a strong opinion on people dying their hair.

But after the initial shock wears off, he’s actually pretty giddy.

Like “Oh my god, she dyed her hair blue because of me!” and he’s got a dopey grin on his face like he's watching his favorite episode of Space Heroes.

As much as he tries to downplay it and be humble, he's very flattered.

He really gets to thinking about the fact that HE’S the reason you dyed your hair- AND it's his signature color late at night while he's trying to go to sleep.

Would you regret staying up til 3 and maybe staining your bathtub? Probably.

But would you ever regret the look on Leo’s face when you walked into the lair with blue hair? Absolutely not.

Upon entering the lair with your signature greeting, you attempt to spot each turtle. Mikey is messing around on his skateboard and calls out a quick hello as he quickly glides past you. He even comments on your new look with a “Sick hair, dudette!”. Donnie was in his lab, not bothering to look up from his laptop as you passed by. And Leo is… Leo is nowhere to be seen, nor is Raph.

You head towards the dojo where you suspect you’ll find your boyfriend and his brother. And to no one’s surprise, they’re both sparing with each other when you take a peek inside.

But to everyone’s surprise, it's Raph who spots you first.

“Oh hey Leo, looks like your girlfriend is here.” Raph talks with a sly grin as he exchanges blades with Leo.

“Yeah, right, Raph. You’re not going to trick me with that again-”

“Hey Leo!” You call out from the door and watch in live action as Leo falters, giving Raph the perfect opportunity to sweep him off his feet. The hot-headed mutant chuckles as he walks out the door a few seconds later, muttering to you a quick “thanks” before he leaves the two of you alone.

By the time you had turned back towards the dojo, Leo was standing in front of you, surprisingly silent.

You chuckled nervously at his lack of expression.

“You… You dyed your hair?” The way he said it made his statement sound like a question. His eyes darted back and forth between your hair and your face for a second before he suddenly became very animated. “I-I mean it looks great- I mean you look great! It's different from your usual look!” His nervousness betrayed him as he gave you a tight smile and rubbed the back of his neck.

“Do you like it? I took some inspiration.” You pointed your finger up and down at him.

“Wait… You dyed your hair blue because of me?!” You could have sworn you heard his voice crack as he pointed back at himself.

Later that night, Leo found himself pacing his room instead of actually sleeping.

He couldn't believe it. You altered your physical appearance because of him! The thought made him feel excited and left him with a feeling of honor. He could only hope to keep inspiring you.

2012 Leo

AN: Guess whose back? Back again. IM SO SORRY THIS TOOK 6 MONTHS!! That white rabbit got me ◞‸◟ also!! First request with TWO prompts (*＾ ᗜ＾* ) !

“You’ve been sick for how long!?” Leo’s concerned voice cuts through the silence of your room out of your phone’s speaker.

“Like… three days?” You weren't all too sure yourself. The past few days have all blended together while you lie under the covers, breaking in and out of a cold sweat every time you wake up.

“And you didn't say anything because?” His voice is strained, trying to coax an answer out of you because he can't understand why you wouldn't tell him you were sick. There's movement on his side. You hear the sheathing of blades and before you can even respond to his question he's already speaking again. “I’m on my way, stay put.” He then promptly hung up, no doubt he wasn't already lifting a manhole cover.

With a sigh you drop your phone into the covers, promptly rolling over and trying to fall back asleep while you await Leo’s arrival.

You hear him before you see him. Three taps against your window before it slides open. You want to roll over to greet him but exhaustion clings to your bones like a tree’s roots to the ground. Seemingly knowing of your predicament his hand rests against your back, rubbing small circles into your spine. A silent way of saying “stay in bed.” Leo leans slightly over you, almost hovering as he silently assesses your sick drowsy state.

“I’ll take care of you.” He whispers, lingering for a second before patting your back and straightening up.

He’s back before you know it. A gentle hand urges you to sit up as he hands you a glass of water. “Are you hungry? I can run around the corner real quick and get you some of that Chinese food you really like.”

“I don't have much of an appetite.”

“Welllllllll~ what about some soup?” He drawled, taking the glass from your hand when you deemed yourself finished with the water and placed it on your nightstand. “It’ll make you feel better. And you can't take medicine on an empty stomach.” His fists rest against his hips as he looks at you expectantly.

You really don't feel like eating. But he probably won't let up, not when he's looking at you like that. So when you agree with a sigh, a simple “yeah sure” Leo is quick to leave your side to rummage around in your kitchen.

After you've eaten something and taken some medicine, you find Leo hovering over you again. You raise an eyebrow at him. He smiles back. Then, next thing you know, you're hoisted up in his arms as he walks you towards your bathroom.

“Leo!” You shriek, gripping onto the brown leather strap that he wears across his plastron. He lets out an amused huff, his breath gently hitting your skin as he maneuvers through a bathroom door that he shouldn't be able to while carrying someone princess style.

“I figured you could use a little freshening up.” Setting you down on the toilet lid. Leo rummages around for a second, hunting for your toothbrush.

“Are you saying I stink?” You jest, taking it from his hand when he finds it for you. You're then promptly handed your toothpaste.

“What! No-” An embarrassed expression quickly overcomes his features as he flounders. You start brushing your teeth as he tries to defend himself. “I just thought, y’know- after a couple of days of not feeling good-” He helps you stand as you go to rinse your mouth, he makes sure your hair doesn't get in the way. “It’s what I would want to do so I just thought…”

“Leo, I’m just joking with you.” You pat him reassuringly on the shoulder as you put away your things. It's the first time you’ve seen yourself in the mirror since Friday. It's now Monday. You could understand where he's coming from.

Leo follows your gaze to the mirror. He just wants you to feel better. With a hopeful glint in his eye he presses his hands together and turns to you. “Can I brush your hair?”

He feels bad. Ultimately, you could have been doing at least a little bit better by now if he had been told about your illness earlier. But he doesn't blame you for it. How can he? Especially with your head resting against his plastron as you drift off into the first good sleep you've had in the past 72 hours.

AN: You didn't specify an iteration so I went with 2012! I hope this is to your liking ヾ(＾∇＾) and wozers… all of this is just under 900 words! It really doesn't look like it- also, I tried to give them each about the same amount but Mikey was kind of hard to write simply bc this is probably my first time writing for him (ノдヽ) hopefully I’ll get better with time!

Leo

He definitely blames himself the most out of the four, he’s the leader, yk he should have been able to do something to prevent it from happening in the first place.

He does what he can to be there for you in your moment of need though.

He constantly feels like he's trying to make up for what happened.

His room is open to you any time you want to just lie in bed undisturbed, whenever he eats he makes sure you get something too, and he leaps at the opportunity to do anything for you should you ask.

But he definitely takes it the hardest, (as read in bullet point one) and constantly beats himself up over it because he's not smart like Donnie or he would be finding the cure himself.

It kind of kills him to wait just as long as you do.

Like if you didn't know any better you would have thought he was the one that was mutated.

Leo does whatever he can to make you just a little less miserable.

Whether it be physical affection, watching a show that you like, or even just sitting together in silence, he will do it.

Raph

At first he was actually kind of hyped. Cut him some slack okay- his partner just got mutated and after the first day he was like “so now you finally get to see what it's all about.”

But he's really quick to understand you don't enjoy this.

He definitely also blames himself but doesn't sit around beating himself up over it either.

He is on Donnie’s ass about getting everything sorted out the way it's supposed to be.

He’s not the best at comforting in general so he tries to be there physically. (Even if hugs aren't really his thing)

Don't get it confused though, he doesn't let you sit and stew in your own depression for long.

He won't force you to train with him or anything outside of your abilities but he does pull a “you got two legs that work, let's get moving.”

If he gets impatient waiting on Donnie (which he probably is by day three) he’ll start to take matters into his own hands and do some… “independent research” topside.

He hates sitting around while you suffer because of something that could have easily been prevented.

Once you are back to normal he doubles down during training to an extent that puts Leo to shame.

Donnie

While he may not blame himself as much for the initial accident, he does start voicing it when it starts to take too long to figure out a way to turn you back.

Yes, he does heavily blame himself for not protecting you at the moment but what really grinds his gears is his inability to make any progress in the lab.

Because of this, if you’re wanting any comfort you would have to drag him away from the vials on his desk for the first few days.

When his progress begins to slow, he may become more aware of your emotional needs and your deteriorating motivation.

He can be good at comforting when he actually tries to be.

He gives good hugs and reassurance falls from his lips pretty easily late at night when it's just the two of you.

But he’s constantly apologizing for everything.

He’s sorry you got mutated. He’s sorry he hasn't figured something out yet. He’s sorry he’s not good enough to cure you right here right now.

Your voice of concern to go home hurts him. So he does the best he can to make that a reality.

Even if it means pulling another all-nighter after wiggling his way out of your comfortable sleeping embrace.

Mikey

At first he was hyped after the initial shock of everything and confirming you're okay.

His significant other just got turned into a mutant like him! How could he not be happy?

But while Mikey may miss some cues here and there, he is not stupid.

He notices when you start to withdraw from hanging out with everyone, instead huddling up in his room.

So he goes where you go, if you’ll have him.

He makes for great company late at night when you can't sleep in a body that isn't yours.

Surprisingly deep conversation flows between the two of you as you both lie on your backs, staring up at the ceiling.

He’s really good at trying to change your negative viewpoint to a positive one.

You miss your family? “Well you’ll get to see them again soon, Donnie’s working on a cure. Until then, me, my brothers, and even Master Splinter can be like a second family!”

Sometimes though, words aren't enough to mend the wound in your longing heart.

But until they are, he’ll continue to motivate you and push you to enjoy the time spent in the lair by occupying your time with various activities.

Pranks, It's mainly pranks. But, seeing Raph get covered in water, flour, and feathers does make for great entertainment.

2012 Donnie

AN: I may have gotten a bit carried away with this one (/ω＼)

You had absolutely no recollection of picking up your phone and dialing a number. But here you are now with Donatello entering through your bedroom window with a worried look on his face.

He hovered over your bedside momentarily as he assessed your current condition without a word. Gently palming your forehead and watching you shiver under the covers only reinforced his hypothesis.

“Hi. I’m here to be your nurse!” His quietness turned to excitement. Not at the prospect of you having a fever but at the chance to prove himself. He quickly attempted to pull the reins in on his eagerness and spoke in a softer, almost nervous tone. “Just for this uh- afternoon of course…”

If you said something in response, he didn't hear it. As he set sail on digging through the bag he brought with him. How did you fail to notice that?

“Are you hungry at all? It's important to eat something before taking any fever-reducing medicine.” He set a small pill bottle on your nightstand as he rummaged through the bag.

You attempted to respond, your voice rough with lack of use. “Not really-”

“Well that's too bad, you have to have something in your stomach.” He pulled out two cans, one was chicken noodle soup and the other was just a broth. “The soup would be more filling, give you some strength while the broth would be the bare minimum- oh! And I also brought some fruit, you can have that too if you’d like.”

Before you even gave him a response he was pulling out a can opener and subtly trying to sway your answer towards the soup. “The soup would be the best choice as of right now, as much as I have faith in you taking care of yourself I doubt you’ve actually eaten anything more than a few crackers and if you're up for it I’ll dice up this apple I brought.”

Your brain cells had been either eaten by the virus that currently afflicted you or you were too tired to really want to try to keep up with his word vomit. As a rebuttal, you just lifted and plopped your hand on one of his. And then he stilled. “Donnie, as much as I love your enthusiasm, I am dying.”

“You’re not dying, you just have the flu.” He gave you a deadpanned look.

“Okay, but I'm literally lying on my deathbed.”

“This is just your mattress.”

“My metaphorical deathbed.”

“Yeah, if you were to die, which you’re not going to. Not with me taking care of you, you’ll be up in no time.” As if he could sense an impending remark he placed his hand on your forehead again. “I’ll make you the soup.”

Donnie spent the next few minutes preparing your gourmet meal of canned chicken noodle.

With a warm bowl on the nightstand, he helped you sit up, even stacking pillows behind your back to keep you upright. Grabbing the bowl, he began to speak.

“I made sure to heat it up just enough not to be too hot.” He paused, then he lifted a spoonful to your lips.

“I can feed myself.”

“Thats debatable.”

After finishing about half of the bowl he gave you the option to tap out and take some medicine. Whether it was because you had eaten enough for his standards or if the red on his face was beginning to be too much for him.

He denied having a fever.

With food in your stomach and a glass of water to wash down your medicine, Donnie insisted you lie back down with a wet rag on your head. He had gathered just about every blanket he could find and piled them on top of one another on you in an attempt to get you to sweat out your fever.

As he was tucking you in with the last, largest blanket you were already fading into the realm of sleep with the rain noise he had playing on your TV.

Unfortunately, his time playing nurse was coming to an end until further notice. Maybe he’ll drop by tomorrow to check on you after nightly patrol. His thoughts wandered as he set the other things he had brought with him on your nightstand. The other can of broth, the apple, the medicine, and even an orange he had forgotten to mention earlier.

As he was just about to open the window, your groggy voice stopped him in his tracks. You had only uttered his name and within seconds he was back at your side.

“Are you alright?” He pulled back the blankets from your chin.

“Thank you.”

Oh! Oh, he wasn't expecting that.

With a spontaneous bout of once-in-a-lifetime courage, he ever so gently planted his hand on your head, his thumb swiping away any hair from your forehead as he gave you a quick peck to your forehead, whispering in response.

“Any time.”

AN: HUZZAH! THE FIRST EVENT REQUEST IS HERE AND HAS BEEN FULFILLED! I was kind of surprised to see it was Rottmnt Mikey who got requested first- (was lowkey expecting one of the Bayverse boys to be first) but this is a pleasant surprise! I’m beyond excited to have an emoji anon, HELLO 🎐 ANON! :)

How Mikey came to know about your feverish state was beyond you.

It's not like you ran into him again after countless attempts on his or his brothers’ well-beings and just so happened to pass out very suddenly and lowkey scared the ever loving shit out of him.

You may be a villain in their story but Mikey was the most compassionate of the four.

So that's where you find yourself now. Arm swung over the mutated box turtle’s shoulders as he tried to coax you into telling him where your home was. Your head was pounding and you could feel your body wanting to give up on you but you still had half a mind to be smart enough not to tell one of your nemesis your home address.

“Look, I just wanna help you out. No bad blood!” Mikey’s voice entered your ears as he patted you on the shoulder. “Pinky promise!”

“I’m not… telling you where I live. For all I know, you’d burn it down with me in it.” The soles of your shoes scrape against the concrete as Mikey leads you in a random direction.

“Nah, burning things isn't my style. But do you know what is burning up?” He turned his head slightly towards you with a small smile for a brief second only to switch up and replace it with a frown as he pointed at you with the hand that wasn't currently around your shoulder. “You!”

“No, I’m not. I'm literally fine.”

Mikey completely withdrew himself from you. And suddenly you realize how much you were using him as a crutch because the very next second you’re about to tumble to the floor before he swoops in again.

“You need rest.”

You noticed Mikey was surprisingly good at taking care of the sick.

After you gave in and told him your place of residence you were home within minutes. He trapped- I mean, tucked you into the couch so you wouldn't get up. He lowkey kind of bashed you for having hardly anything in your pantry but he pulled together an easy soup, (you didn't even have a can of chicken noodle.) and spoon-fed you until the bowl was empty.

Only then did he give you something to lower your fever. At some point, you also received a wet wash cloth on your head and an extra pillow.

And as you wake up in the middle of the night to a note on the coffee table telling you to take it easy with a little doodle on the corner, you can't help but think ‘Maybe he isn't so bad.’
