The Windroe bros match up with the Robins somewhat.

Let me explain.

Ciero is Dick Grayson. Very flexible, lighthearted, emotional centre of the family. Fell I love with childhood friend.

Octavian is Jason Todd. Big, strong, angsty, hates his dad. Also has a love for literature.

Favio is Damian Wayne. Very proud, very cold to people. Youngest. Also, loves animals.

And Zephyr is Tim Drake. Very smart, very self conscious. Angsty inside. Felt unloved by (bio) father.

...and that means...

...Elspeth is batman.

Elspeth wandered through her personal library. There were books upon books upon books. Her eyes scanned every spine, when she saw one that stood out to her like a sore thumb. 

It was one that she hadn't seen in years, and one that she had tried to lock away in her memory.

Yet, feeling drawn to the album, she stepped closer. Her horn lit up with silvery magic and levitated it off of the shelf. It then sat down on the table, and was open to a page that she remembered well - the day that she started to lose her mother.

In an instant, the mare's eyes fluttered open, and she was sat beside a rather frail looking unicorn colt in a hospital. His tired eyes switched from her to the floor and back again constantly.

She was reliving one of her worst memories and going through it all over again. 

"You okay there, Elsy?" He asked timidly.

"Of course," she sat herself up straight. "Why wouldn't I be, Elliot?"

Oof...

Uh... not much to say, really.

Elspeth had went through a severely traumatic event - and Richard could see how much it had affected her, so he decided to ease up on being a dick.

He'd help out with Zephyr and Octi. He'd wash stuff up. He'd handle a lot of stuff that men at the time... really didn't tend to.

And it honestly made Elspeth believe that Richard was someone she could've seen herself sending her life with. That he could change, could become a man worthy of her hand. They'd go to Procksy Bay, hang out at places they hadn't been to in years. They'd have fun, be in love. They'd be a family, be a couple.

...which is what led to them getting a bit friskier...

...and having Ciero.

And because Ciero's birth was also quite traumatic (honestly, only Elspeth's first and last pregnancy were easy for her), Richard still took the role of the perfect gentlemen.

And for a while, it all felt perfect.

if Richard and Elspeth knew each other from when they were young, what was their relationship like back then? with two clashing personalities i can only assume they had their rough patches

Well, as little kids (like, 7/8), they had somewhat similar interests. They liked roughly the same books.

Wizard of Oz, Narnia, etc. They'd talk about that.

They did get along somewhat. They'd play games when Elliot was too ill, or too busy studying.

Unfortunately, as they grew older, they kinda... didn't keep in touch and just became their own people?

Richard got more influenced by his father and brothers.

Elspeth saw how her own family worked, saw it was kinda fucked up and said "hm. Yeah. I'll try not to be that."

As they grew older, it became more of an "Ugh, why are you like that?!" kinda thing.

Idea I came up with:

"Everything is fine" au.

Basically:

Zephyr is running Elspeth and Richard's family companies. While married for some time (since he was twenty), he and his spouse remain childless.

Octavian's a successful environmental lawyer. With a wife and a daughter.

Ciero breeds and shows beagles. Sadly, he has never married, but he lives in Procksy Bay with his childhood best friend and they're happy together.

And [redacted] is the head of their own fast fashion company and is a retired model with a son off in boarding school.

As for Elspeth and Richard...

Richard is enjoying his retirement, and Elspeth...

...She's going along just fine.

"You look very... *looks to Octavian for help* ...cowabunga... son" - big Jack.

Kids all think it's cool.

Elspeth tells him to pack a sweater in his backpack.

Seed just makes a small boof.

Anyway! Smile having puppies! I always love stuff like this! One of the earliest creepypasta comics I read was a deviantart blog where Smile had puppies with a dog from Silent Hill. And one thing that will always stick with me from it is Smile going "I'm red?! (What's red?)"

Elspeth's brothers! Another thing I love! It adds depth to her character, and gives her a reason to stay with Richard for as long as she did. Her own family was ripped apart, and she didn't want to do that to her kids.

Sally and Nat being cousins! Adorable!

The whole thing with Toby's mom and Tim's mom. Covi forever.
