What do tumblr emails look like? I just reported something and almost instantly got an email but it doesn't look like any I've seen from them before (the pfp is gray not blue like the others)

I'm glad you asked! I've been wanting to make a post related to this for a while now, and I can completely understand your concern!
Just remember: nobody should know your email address that's linked to your tumblr account unless you tell them, so keep that in mind in case anyone randomly comes into your DM's and randomly asks what your email/tumblr email is! Don't share it if you absolutely don't have to!
So let's start: What do tumblr emails look like?
This email is to me from Tumblr's zendesk, which is their helpdesk portal service! That lets them answer peoples tickets with ease on its own website. I got this instantly when I reported another user, it's probably similar to what you got too, anon!
The email it shows is [email protected]. For me, the image is orange!
This email reads:
##- Please type your reply above this line -## Hey there, We got your email. We’re on the case and will respond as quickly as we can. What should I do now? If you didn’t already, send the permalink of the post you’re reporting. Just reply to this email so everything stays together. Don’t start a new chain or send a new report because those will be routed to the end of the queue. And please don’t ask your friends to report the same issue. We know they love you, but they’ll clog up our system and make it harder for us to respond quickly. What if I need help right away? If things have gotten totally out of hand—like someone is threatening physical violence—you should report your concern in detail to the appropriate law enforcement organization. Best, Tumblr This email is a service from tumblr. Delivered by Zendesk
This next email is from Tumblr's automated system, these are the emails you can get (unless you have it turned off I think?) when you get sent asks, submissions, someone replies to your posts, ect. from other users! Look anon, it's you! This email is from [email protected]. I'm not sure why it didn't show for me for some reason.. But for me in this one is also orange.
This next one is from Tumblr's Trust and Safety department. You'll usually get one like this as a reply from T/S when your reported user ticket (the previous zendesk report!) was handled. These emails are usually from [email protected]. These emails will read like this:
##- Please type your reply above this line -## Your request (######) has been updated. To add additional comments, reply to this email. Tumblr Trust & Safety (tumblr) Date, Time EDT Hello, Thank you very much for your report. <blog link goes here> The blog in question has been removed from Tumblr for violating our Terms of Service or our User Guidelines. Tumblr Trust & Safety
I cropped this image in particular simply because I didn't want to show the account in question, even though it was just one of those fake 'verify your account' blogs. Here's the image of the email header, the image is also green in this one:
If you ever get an email from a yahoo.com, hotmail.com, gmail.com, outlook.com, claiming to be tumblr, paypal, facebook, instagram, Mcafee, or any other service saying that 'your account's been hacked/you need to verify/you bought this item for $$$ blah blah', that's 100% a phishing scam attempt and it should be reported to that hosting service (gmail for instance) so the account can be taken down!
Remember:
Check who the sender of the email is first before you do anything. You can do this by clicking on the sender name, or in most cases most email services have settings in their options to show the full name of the message sender.
If it says you 'bought' an item or there was an error with your paypal/cashapp/account ect, check your accounts FIRST before clicking on anything in that email at all. Especially if there's a 'click here to fix/go here now' button. Type the full url as you know it, and log in that way.
If you, yourself, see no issues? There are no issues, it's a scam! Don't contact them via a phone number, email, or click any links to 'double check' and 'make sure.' Always trust your own methods of verifying your accounts are secure before trusting theirs.
DO NOT call any numbers listed on the email sent that says you need to call it for 'technical support'. Those will go to a scam call center.
And finally? Just.. NEVER click on anything in the email at all if you can avoid it. There can be hidden links leading to phishing websites that can automatically down viruses that cause harm to your computer or device if you do. So it's best to just report it via the email service and delete it.
Those 3 emails are the only 3 I personally know of that are from Tumblr. As for the image color itself, I'm not certain how or why yours might be a different color.. It is the address I would be paying attention to!
If anyone else knows of any official tumblr emails (and others can confirm they're true. Please let me know and I'll update this post. :)
