Deep embedding
I used to think structures like this existed only in the wildest fantasies of generativists. And yet, here is a real-life example of triple center embedding from Plato’s prose:

Hey, does anyone know why Tumblr is so reluctant to let me put Ao3 links in posts? Links from literally anywhere else work just fine. But I'll try to put one from Ao3 in, and instead of turning into that big rectangle with the fic name and whatnot that you see in all the polls, it just stays as a normal link, if that makes sense. Sometimes, a link will work as intended, but it feels like it's based on luck more than anything else. It's annoying - Mod W
Alexander Horned Sphere | James W. Alexander (1924)
A classic example of a pathological (counterintuitive) object in the mathematical field of Topology. It was discovered by James Waddell Alexander II upon realizing that his original 1924 proof of Schoenflies' Theorem in 3D was incorrect. He then crafted the Horned Sphere as a new topological proof for the wild embedding of a 2-Sphere in 3D.
Hadamard knew in 1898 that negative curvature and simply connectedness for surfaces embedded in 3-space force uniqueness of geodesics joining two points—implying that any segment of geodesic is also a shortest path.
But there is a long way toward the modern statement: “on any complete abstract Riemannian manifold of ≥0 curvature of any dimension, curvature is the quotient of its universal covering by a discrete group of isometries.”

any chance of tumblr implementing rel="me" links? so that i can link back to my website from my tumblr, then put a little link in my site header to show on tumblr that i'm the owner of that website.
Answer: Hey hey, @unpretty!
We like the idea a lot! It would certainly make a lot of things possible and make NPF more powerful than it already is.
While we’re sorry to say that we can’t make any promises just yet, we can say that we will certainly look into it. It’s a great suggestion. Keep on an eye on @changes for this one.

Wackus if I were to hypothetically ask an out of topic random question per say like...
How exactly do you add a picture to ao3? Because I really don't know
.. would you help me out of the kindness of your heart 🥺?
oh man I am by no means an ao3 expert but I use html cheat codes to get what I need done! I have this thing saved in my private bookmarks to help me:
An Archive of Our Own, a project of the Organization for Transformative Works
this is how I added my little doodles to odnlb! and how I leave gifs or pictures in ao3 comments haha. hope that helps 💗
