By utilizing movements that allow you to get into a desired position and applying resistance you'll be able to lock in that new range by teaching your body and brain how to use and stabilize it.⠀ _________________________________________⠀ If you're looking for an exercise that will stretch your limits of mobility, stability, strength and motor control this one is for you. The standing windmill is one of my favorite exercise for upper body mobility and stability. I use it either as a preparatory exercise before training or at the end of my workout with more challenging weight to make sure I keep my overhead mobility in check for snatching and clean and jerking.⠀ _______________________________________________________⠀ This exercise will blast your rotator cuff muscles, which are in charge of keeping the head of the humerus in the right place during overhead motions.
