CASTIEL COMFORTING AN ANXIOUS MC AFTER A CRISIS:
You had no idea how much time passed since it began. It could be minutes, hours, days. You knew that when those crises came, the best thing to do was to break the cycle and get out of the anxiety haze, but the only thing that your body managed to do was to shake with the sobs and shrink as you laid on the bed in fetal position. Your head was starting to ache from all the different thoughts that passed, most of them painful and hateful.
The door opened and, even with your whole body being covered by the blankets, you knew it was him. The soft sound of his socks against the hardwood floor caught your ears. Instead of collapsing on the bed, as he would normally do after a hard day of work, Castiel knelt before you and carefully moved the cloth so he could see your face.
Your red, swollen eyes made his chest sting, but luckily he already knew what to do when those crises came. His calloused hands drained your fresh tears and he looked at you in the eyes. His lips curled into a reassuring smile, doing his best to make you remember that, even in times like that, everything would be alright.
As his thumb caressed your cheek, Castiel kissed your forehead. He helped you to sit with your back against the headboard and asked: “Do you want some water?”
You nodded and he went to the kitchen as quickly as possible. In a few seconds he was already back, offering you the glass. The cool feeling of the liquid on your throat helped you calm down. As the adrenaline started to decrease, your thoughts were unscrambling.
“When is your next appointment? Do you need me to call and ask if they can anticipate it?”
“Yes, please… but not now.”
Castiel sat beside you and his right arm pulled your side against him. Your head automatically rested on his neck. His warmth invaded you, forcing your whole body to relax. You knew he wanted to know what happened exactly, but you didn’t want to talk about that. The two of you remained in silence for a couple of minutes, until he started humming a familiar tune, which you recognized immediately. Your favorite song.
It was difficult. However, as you started to doze off to the sound of his deep voice, you knew that it would eventually be better. And, hey, you were not alone.
