Do you have any head canons for sick Kaeya? The current Genshin event has me in my Kaeya era again <3 (emeto or general is cool!)

ok so i have not actually played g//enshin in a while and haven’t seen or played the event. BUT. i do have constant k//aeya brain rot, so..

here u go!

K//AEYA

*is one of those people who get both hot and cold at the same time, and just can’t decide if they want blankets or ice packs. or both.

*usually sneezes multiple times at once. cryo vision probably bugs out sometimes and makes him feel colder.

*good at stifling, but it’s no use because his nose always gets super red and itchy.

*almost always sneezes and coughs at the same time. the moment he gets a cold he’s congested to hell and back.

*voice gets very very scratchy & hoarse. it hurts to talk, and K//aeya winces every time he swallows.

*he either hides it, or milks the fuck out of it. no in-between. depends on the day.

*hair stays super messy because he just cannot muster up the energy to brush it. pyjamas 24/7 too.

*wipes his nose on sleeves, blankets, clothes — anything BUT tissues or a handkerchief. makes for a lot of contagion if there’s a caretaker involved.

*runs cold, so if he feels even the slightest bit overheated, he’ll check his temperature. it’s like a spidey-sense.

*dizzy all the time.

*will absolutely try and use his cryo vision to soothe his fever/aches, only to overuse it and exhaust himself further.

here’s some emeto for you too :)

*usually very quiet unless it’s a really bad bug.

*loses his appetite completely but will force himself to eat something.

*if/when he does eat while he feels nauseous, he puts a bin or bag or something right next to him.

*has a tendency to try and hold it in until he just can’t anymore. this doesn’t usually end well.

*lots and lots of queasy sounds. so many of them. quiet and soft but definitely there.

*cries so much without intending to.

*fever always always spikes whenever he vomits.

*asks to be alone solely to avoid humiliation.

Authors are doing a serious disservice to their works when they describe a vomiting scene in like, one sentence. There’s just so much more going on there!!

The sheen of sweat on the brow and how the perspiration beats on their temple before running down the side of their face. Do they get hot flashes or cold sweats?

How their speech gets interrupted by compulsive swallows. What do their hiccups sound like? Are they deep and forceful or chirpy and shallow?

Their breath quakes and their bodies tremble as they begin to lose control to their stomachs. Do their hands shake? Are they nervous or scared?

What sort of noise do they make? Is it forceful and strained? Is it tired, quiet, and weak? How many times have they been sick already? Are they accustomed to this? How much do they gag and retch?

Can they hold it back or are they unable to do so? Do they try to hold it or do they let it come? Do they have a hard time getting anything up or does it come naturally? Do they dry heave or is it all productive? Can you tell how much they’ve eaten?

How is their posture? Maybe squatted down, kneeling, standing, hands on their knees, hand on the wall, hands on the floor, even lying on their side

Would they do anything to avoid making a mess? Or are they desperate enough to not care? Is there an embarrassed flush on their cheeks or ears?

Do they go pale and green when they feel sick? Is it obvious? Or do they just look like their normal selves?

Do they spit? Does saliva cling and dangle to their lips or are they more clean about it? Do they wipe their mouth with their sleeve or wait for a towel?

How long does the nausea stay for? Is it come-and-go, or is it a horrible, rocky, slow build that has them anticipating being sick for hours?

There is so much to be discovered here! So much detail that so many are missing out on. It’s such a tender and vulnerable moment, why would you want to miss a single thing? Tell me what their retches sound like. Tell me what it’s like for them to lose control. Tell me what their posture is, how they feel, what they look like. Tell me how hard they tremble and specifically how many times they thickly swallow.

 Bakugou

He absolutely does not vomit unless he's sick or getting gut punched into next week. He can just will that shit away with some pacing and angry muttering at himself. However.... When he does vomit, it's pretty volatile and sets off his quirk. He also has a small habit of... pissing himself during particularly violent heaves. He's 100% the type of person to keel over and puke on the floor cause he refused to take his nausea seriously. His face looks so pained when he vomits, too. Scrunched up so much, white knuckling whatever could be grabbed nearby, harsh coughs in between. 100% death glares during/between heaves if anyone tries to get close to comfort him.

This boy overanalyzes his body when he starts feeling a hint of nausea. 100% goes straight to the bathroom and just sits there, even if he doesn't vomit.  He totally gets the cold sweats really fucking bad... soaks the collar of his shirt and has wicked pit stains after it all.. But I think he'd also be a pretty quiet puker? Lots of hiccups and soft burps ending in the gurgly sound of vomit rising, but nothing too bad! 

And maybe he's a little mellow dramatic about it, hugging the toilet bowl and sniffling as snot runs out of his nose, but we already knew he was a big baby.

Absolutely could care fucking less about throwing up to a point where it's a little concerning. Better to just get it over with and feel better than to suffer!

Went out to eat with Tetsu and ate way too much meat? Catch him in the ally shoving a finger down his throat just to lighten the load a bit. Starts feeling sick? "Hold on bro." With a fucking smile then walks to the nearest bush/tree/trashcan to puke. He's also the biggest sweetheart when it comes to others getting sick. Rubs their back, holds their hair if they need, and coos out the sweetest "that's it." "I know.. get it out..." etc

Now we kinda already know stuff w her? Def just Cute Not loud, just pathetic and baby

Too used to throwing up cause of her quirk, nausea is way too familiar to her. She's great at recovering from getting sick. Bounces back once her stomach doesn't feel like it's trying to claw it's way up her throat. Can eat/drink through the lingering nausea after. It's honestly just a chore to her now.

He's like.. a mix of Bakugou and Kiri. He doesn't really care about throwing up, but when he does, he ends up setting off his quirk a small bit.

He also has a SUPER sensitive gag reflex and gets squeamish easily. You could say something vaguely gross and he starts to gag. Because of his sensitive gag reflex, he can be a little noisy and, uh... messy when trying to give head. Comforting him when he pukes can end up being a pretty bad idea since you'll end up getting shocked... Which sucks for him cause he's a massive cuddle bug when he's sick.

I don't think she'd be the type of vomit often, honestly.. OR Maybe! Her quirk makes her stomach super acidic, so she often just.. has to go throw up throughout the day. 

 All I know is I do think her puke would be pretty slimy looking uvu

He's definitely the type to take his body seriously, so any /hint/ of feeling sick and he's probably laid up in bed. I don't think you'd ever catch him puking anywhere other than the toilet if he can help it.

However, I do think he'd be an amazing caretaker! Making sure the poor queasy person he's caring for is properly hydrated and fed (even if they can't keep it down...) and doing his best to avoid any messes!

so hear me out: people with an insanely sensitive gag reflex

i know someone irl who has a crazy gag reflex & he will gag himself from yawning too much, drawing his saliva in his mouth to spit, brushing his teeth, coughing, burping, it’s actually ridiculous

a character with a sensitive gag reflex having a stomach virus or feeling nauseous tries to burp to relieve the feeling but it triggers their reflex and backfires

after swallowing back the nausea for long enough to think it’s safe to sleep, they get in back and yawn without thinking and immediately vomit

going to spit into the toilet/a bucket/on the ground makes them immediately start heaving OR after vigorous exercise they aren’t feeling sick, but when they go to spit out the excess saliva in their mouth it makes vomit come up with it

brushing their teeth after being sick triggers their gag reflex so they always keep mouthwash. to their dismay, they can’t stop vomiting but they find they have run out of mouthwash and they hate the taste of puke

dunno about anyone else, but muscle relaxants make me nauseous and dizzy af (i take them legally and safely ofc).

but really I am in love with the idea of a character being sick from a medication that they absolutely need to function. they know there’s a good chance of it making them vomit or feel sick, but there’s no way around it.

a character with an injury taking prescribed painkillers accidentally on an empty stomach without realising it. waking up from sleep to vomit immediately upon opening their eyes.

a character taking ssris or something else for their mental health and it always makes them feel sick. they’re feeling particularly anxious when it’s time to take them and it causes them to lose the battle against the nausea.

a character feeling super loopy when they take their meds along with dizzy. they take it after a big meal and somehow that just makes it all worse as the dizziness makes them lose all the food they ate. plus, they’re so loopy and out of it that they don’t know they’re gonna vomit until they’re already being sick.

a character doesn’t really feel sick from their meds, but it does make them dizzy and overheated. they take some while feeling nauseous and it pushes them over the edge.

really, there’s just so much potential here.

I have a soft spot for Jeongguk with long hair. By soft spot I mean mortal weakness. It is my literal Achilles heel. It’s right next to my sweet spot of Yoongi with long hair and mullet tae

Imagine his hair falling into his face as he’s sick, someone holding it back to keep it out of the way. Once he catches a break, they pull it up in a messy bun for him even though his hair is mostly drenched it sweat.

Vomiting while trying to tuck his hair behind his ears before someone finally finds a Bobby pin to hold it back. Or, better yet, cute and colourful hair clips.

Someone running their fingers through his hair later in the night, trying to coax him to sleep, scratching gentle circles on his scalp through the thick strands.

Getting overheated with a fever and hating the feeling of his hair on his neck and how warm it makes him feel. Tying it up into a little ponytail.

And - hear me out - someone putting his hair in a French braid to keep it out of his face once and for all, because the man buns and Bobby pins keep letting strands slip through.

okay but I have been DYING to talk about sick yoonie. I love love LOVE writing him!!!

Also, my hcs have changed since my blog was created years ago, so they might conflict with my old posts!

so for starters I’ll just run thru a list of personal hcs that I have

Quiet sickie. Doesn’t like to make a big deal out of things because he really doesn’t think it’s a big deal most of the time

His personality just gets more subdued and toned-down when he doesn’t feel good

Stubborn to a point. If he’s in the middle of work, there is no fucking way he’s gonna stop until he’s done. Especially if there’s a deadline involved. But, that being said, if it’s a slow period with work he’s easier to convince to chill and take a break

Hoseok, Jeongguk, and Tae are the best at making puppy eyes at him until he takes a rest. Namjoon giving him a ‘leader talk’ is a last resort but typically works well

Typically good at not making a mess when he’s vomiting. Knows his limits well and is concerningly good at holding it back. But, if he’s delirious off of a fever or some kind of medication that just goes out the window and he will pretty much throw up anywhere, any time without warning

Gets moderate motion sickness, especially on planes which is unfortunate because they fly literally everywhere

Is the literal king of sleeping off illnesses. Will sleep for 14+ hours straight and wake up mostly recovered.

Doesn’t really seek out physical comfort or skinship unless it’s given to him without having to ask - again, this changes if he’s delirious or feverish. Can and WILL get cuddly. Hold. His. Hand.

Can sometimes get grumpy if someone is trying to wake him up or get him to stop working. Typically he’s only really snappy if he’s stressed out over work.

Gets sick because of stress at LEAST 4/5 times a year. Will throw up once or twice, sleep for 12 hours, and then be good to go

Has made himself sick off coffee on an empty stomach a few times. Seems to finally have learned his lesson (perhaps???)

Has mild allergies and gets colds a few times a year, but they don’t typically amount to anything serious

Has a solid stomach most of the time, food doesn’t typically make him sick unless there’s legitimately something really wrong with the food

Tends to downplay, even to himself - take the apendicitis for example. He was just like. Nah I just gotta take a shit

Even when ill, he tries to take care of everyone else and remind them to take care of themselves.

Soft spot for Hoseok taking care of him. Doesn’t like the little ones to see him ill, especially when it’s serious
