The sarcasm doesn't miss its mark. So much reveals the dry chuckle Sydney reaps from him, whereas he completely understands the whole social battery issue. A thought Cain doesn't hold captive. "I get that", he admits with an upward twitch of brows in tandem with a small nod for emphasis. Just when he inches away some to signal her he's going to give her space, Sydney's question prompts a halt.

"First of all", comes with the show of a palm as though in halfhearted defense. "I'm no angel." Doubt creases his brows, contemplation flicking his gaze sideways for one, two beats. "Didn't I tell you what I am?" Cain suddenly isn't sure whether he truly did— in the rush of getting her into safety as instructed, maybe that got lost. Thanos was never a fan of turning fans down for things like pictures, but it wasn't up to him in this place. Sure, a part of it was the shallow boost it gave to his ego, although it didn't change how negatively he viewed his achievements - or lack of. He still had fans that remembered him, yet he still considered himself to be a failed rapper. Despite all the fawning he could receive, it never was enough to silence the inner critic.

"It's crazy how much walkin' they're makin' us do here. They're gonna make some of those old players struggle before the game even starts." A bit judgy of him, but he figured the older players who seemed to have lived their lives pulling strings rather than being active wouldn't last too long here.

Tell Cain to stop killing things, he'd convey an equally disappointed reaction. Which he actually did upon getting assigned to this task, by an archangel helping team free will no less. So can he blame her? He won't, gathered the clairvoyants in safety to guard them until there'll be green light for them to be made seen again. "I'm sorry I can't give you any clear answer. That whole waiting... thing doesn't excite me either, you know." A statement of fact offered, Cain starts to pace.

He may contemplate on how to spend this time— not exactly good at connecting with strangers when socializing out of his tiny circle gets draining very quick. "You don't want to talk to the others?" Casually scanning the books neatly sorted into old shelves as he passes them by, he hears hushed voices from down the hall. Some of the others withdrew from the main halls. Others sit by themselves, confused. Irritated.

Already getting acquainted with one Celestiel being was hard enough.❞ She crossed her arms and shifted her weight from one foot to the other as she watched the archangel move through the bookshelves. ❝May I ask a few questions about you?
