Week 214, Day 1493.
We are back from possibly the best holiday I have ever been on. We went to Cyprus, where every day was a beautiful, sun-soaked, cocktail-drenched, sea-cleansed, sapphire-blue day. We both needed the break so bad. However, the most exciting part of the holiday was that my best friend asked me to marry him, and I said yes!!! 💍 Feeling like a proper adulty adult! ✨
I thought I was ready to come home, but the crash back down to reality has been much harder than I anticipated. The funny thing is, nothing major has happened, so I must feel this stressed, anxious, and overwhelmed all the time normally, but I am feeling it so much more intensely since actually taking some time off and properly relaxing.
Well, I say nothing major has happened, I did receive an email from my internal examiner at 8:30am on the last day of my holiday asking when I am planning to submit my thesis. I have also spent time every day since getting back in meetings with my CEO and supervisors. All of this is a lot after doing nothing for 10 days. Also, my ring is in the shop being resized, so even that glistening reminder of holiday bliss is currently absent. :(
Nevertheless, I am excited (and a wee bit terrified) for the next couple of months ahead as I take on the last hurdle of writing and finishing my thesis, with the intention to submit before Christmas! I have moved my trip to Russia from December to January, which has freed up the whole of December, and am feeling as ready and motivated as one can be when faced with such a mammoth task!
On that note, I am off to do some thesis writing. I leave you with a bunch of our holiday photos. 🌴☀🌊🍸❤
