idk if youve discussed this before but lately ive been thinking... how much ‘delinquency’ (for lack of a better word) would the boys (+light, if you would) tolerate in an SO? im saying, maybe like, alcohol consumption, cigarettes or consumption of other... ‘substances’, or daredevil streaks (like, maybe, careless driving, speeding, etc?)... or really anything further than that, anything you could think of? where do they draw the line? anything specifically off-limits?👀 i hope my question makes sense heheh i’d love to know your thoughts ;D
OMGosh Dani! I am SO SORRY! This got lost in my Asks!!! 🖤
L
Hates cigarette smoke. He has a super good sense of smell, and the smoke bothers him.
Drugs and alcohol. He has little tolerance. He is easily lured to such vices and doesn’t want the idea of them being softened by associating them with someone he loves.
Reckless behavior? Can’t they see he’s busy with cases? Now he has to worry about them getting themselves killed or arrest. He doesn’t have time for this.
Minor crimes like shoplifting and pickpocketing for the thrill…he gets the allure, but he doesn’t want them doing it. He can’t just drop everything to bail them out.
Mello
Has a “do as I say, not as I do” kind of attitude with daredevil behaviors. He wants them to be safe, but doesn’t give a thought to the reciprocal.
Smoking drives him crazy. He hates the smoke and has a lot of ‘facts’ about why they’re bad for your health.
Drinking is fine, as long as they keep it in check. If they’re going to get drunk, he rather they do it at home, but it better not become a habit,
Near
Never gave it a thought until he saw them drinking. The he started to keep track of it in case it was something more than something they enjoy. (he doesn’t want them self-medicating with any substance.)
Illegal substances are a no-go. He’s just not having it.
Reckless behaviors depend on the situation. If it’s necessary, then it’s necessary. If it’s for fun’s sake, he’s rather they didn’t do it.
Matt
Is chill about all their vices. In fact, he’s a little too chill about them. Smoking, drinking, substances. He’s really not bothered, especially if it’s occasional for recreation.
Daredevil behaviors are all good, too. Matt loves a fast car and a good race now and then.
He’s just the kind of guy that doesn’t think anything bad will happen until it’s too late.
Beyond Birthday
Drinking! He likes to go drinking with them and play pranks on people, especially off-putting ones where they call strangers by their names and telling them when they’re going to die.
Smoking is ok now and then. Depends on his mood and if they’re roleplaying. If it fits who they’re pretending to be, he’s all good with it. When they’re being themselves though, B doesn’t like them smoking. (It makes sense to him.)
Reckless behaviors are not only tolerated, but encouraged…as long as they’re together doing them. If they’re apart, then it’s a no-go and he’s going to be pissed.
Light
Drinking is fine as long as they are of age and do not make a spectacle of themselves. What would people think if they were intoxicated in public?
Smoking is a disgusting habit. He won’t tolerate it.
Any illegal substance is out of the question. He’s a member of the NPA for God’s sake. What if they got caught? How would that reflect on him?
Again, reckless behaviors are more about appearances. The Yagamis are good, law-abiding citizens.
hey hey hey listen, idk if this has ever been asked before but like, you know those 5 love languages thing? well which one do u think Kakashi prefers?👀
HI FIRST OF ALL I'M SO SORRY IM ANSWERING SO LATE DHSJDHJ I've had a crazy schedule of late 😩 secondly, It hasn't been asked and im v happy to answer it dgshsj i hope i can answer it right
Okay so imo Kakashi's love language is definitely 'acts of service'. I think it'd mean a lot to him if his s/o anticipates his needs and wants and makes small gestures accordingly. He himself isn't big on flashy shows of love, nor does he want that from his s/o. I think what would truly make his heart melt are the small gestures that show him you care
After years of being alone and bearing the burden of the world on his shoulders, having someone that takes care of him, does little things for him without being asked is gonna fill his heart, honestly. You have no idea how happy you can make him just by doing the simplest things like maybe making him his favourite soup when he's sick. He doesn't even tell you that he's not feeling so good, nor does he make any show of it whatsoever. But you notice that he's being looking a little unwell and make him a hot bowl of his favourite soup, which is just what he needed at this moment and he's just- he's floored
You're going grocery shopping and you'd noticed that Kakashi's toothbrush has been looking a little frayed for a while now but he's been too busy to remember to get a new one, so you make it a point to replace it for him and get him one yourself, and when he goes to brush his teeth the next time, he sees the brand new toothbrush he's been meaning to get for weeks now- and his heart is so full. This means more to him than you can ever imagine
He's been hunched over his desk at home, going through piles and piles of paperwork all day, so you stop and go up to him when you're passing by his desk and start massaging his shoulders without a word and he relaxes right into your hands
He's been reading on the couch in an awkward position for hours, so you get a pillow and put it under his neck so his neck doesn't cramp up
It's just little gestures like these that make Kakashi feel so loved and cared for. Having someone like this is such a luxury to him and he doesn't even want anything more, this means everything to him. After all he's been through, having someone that thinks of him for once is more than anything he ever hoped for. These gestures may mean nothing to you, you may not even think before doing these or just perform these things by default, but to kakashi it means everything. He notices it, he thinks about it, and it means everything to him
hii! i finally made up my mind on an ask to send for the awfully adorable winter prompt list😂 ive strangely been craving some good ol sweet fluff lately, so may i please ask for a drabble of bundled up winter walks with naruhina?👀 (im not sure if youre ok with writing for this ship, i hope you are!🥺) thank you!💞
Title: Can I Join You?
Word count: 658
Naruto’s always thought Hinata was a little...odd. He’s never disliked her...he just doesn’t understand her. So her weirdness isn’t enough to deter him when Sakura suggests (demands) he go outside and join Hinata on her stroll past their frosted window.
He is tired of being cooped up inside and Hinata looks so lonely out there. Naruto supposes offering her his company feels like a better alternative to Sai’s occasional (unwanted) comments and Sakura’s yelling every time he complains of boredom.
•••
He scares her, somehow.
Hinata’s always been easy to frighten, but he doesn’t know how she can possibly be jumpy out here. With white flurries swirling through the air, the windless chill surrounding every inch of their skin, and no sign of anyone else crazy enough to be out in the cold on the street, Hinata should be calm. Maybe she isn’t only because she isn’t bundled up enough. Sakura was onto something when she told Naruto to take an extra hat.
Naruto purses his lips after issuing Hinata an apology for the fright, then reaches into his coat pocket with thick, clumsy gloved fingers. By the time he finally finds the knitted hat, Hinata is furrowing her brows at him on a face hidden beneath trim bangs and surrounding hair confettied with melting snowflakes. When he extends the hat toward her, Hinata’s misty eyes widen until her brows are completely hidden beneath her bangs. Her cheeks, already flushed a pale pink from the cold, burn even redder. Naruto grimaces, uneasy, when it becomes apparent she isn’t going to take it for herself. Instead, he stretches the hat over her head, hesitating until she presses closer in invitation, even though her eyes remain scrunched shut and her lips press tightly together.
Her lips look very pretty, actually. Naruto appreciates more the delicate features of her pale face and long lashes as he fits the hat snugly around her ears, taking her in up close like this.
•••
Once she’s past her initial shock, Hinata seems happy to have Naruto walk with her. She’s not very talkative, but she doesn’t seem to mind pressing their shoulders together for body heat, listening to Naruto do all the talking. It’s nice to have someone to just listen as he complains about the newest line of crap Sai came out with back at Sakura’s apartment. It’s even nicer when he receives the confirmation that Hinata was actually listening, and the compliment she gives when she assures Naruto the opposite of what Sai said is true.
•••
By the time they arrive at the Hyuuga compound, Naruto doesn’t want their walk to end. He’s adapted so well to the cold out here, enjoying the crunching snow beneath his sandals and the blanket of white all over the Hidden Leaf, that he doesn’t look forward to being back indoors, swarmed by heat, distanced again from Hinata. He’s with the one person who really wants to hear what he has to say, even if it’s ridiculous to other people.
Naruto eyes Hinata as they stand at the entrance and takes a deep breath as he feels heat spread up his neck and around his frozen ears and the bridge of his cold nose. The contrast of Hinata’s dark hair and colorful clothing against the white snow surrounding her makes her impossible to look away from. She stands out here. Her face has been slightly pink for this whole walk, and though it’s likely from the cold, Naruto would like to think some of it is because of him. Maybe this pretty, shy girl with stunning eyes that can see straight through him doesn’t want this to end, either.
Naruto takes Hinata’s gloved hands into his, pressing them together for warmth and union, and gives her a smile as he asks her if they can do this again sometime.
The smile Hinata gives him when she leaves keeps him warm for the entire walk back to Sakura’s.
listen, i need to know.... how do you think minato and kushina would think about hinata?👀💞 im craving this interaction pls
hinata is like the perfect type of girl to bring home, she’s so sweet and well mannered honestly I think kushina would be surprised that her son managed to find a girl like her. she won’t let naruto spend anytime with her when she’s over cause kushina’s never had a daughter before so she can get to do all the things with her she could never convince naruto to do and naruto is always worried that since hinata is so introverted his mom can be too much to handle, but hinata’s never had a mom before either so she’s always grateful for kushina’s love and support. I think minato would try to make sure hinata knows that she can always come to him for anything. theyd be having deep interesting convos at the table while there’s yelling and chaos in the background with kushina and naruto
hi! im sorry if this is late, but please: bell, hand, copper, and bone for kakashi, if you havent done those already👀 sorry if its a lot i would just love to hear what you have to say🥺❤️
Nah you’re good don’t worry!! Thanks so much! I hope you like these!
Bell: Song lyrics or a quote associated with them?
Omg omg I have so many song lyrics that remind me of Kakashi. I’m actually planning a three part fic inspired by three songs and I’m so tempted to put some of those lyrics there but i wont, here are some others that I love though:
All this time spent in vain, wasted years, wasted gain
All is lost, hope remains, and this war's not over
There's a light, there's the sun, taking all shattered ones
(Shattered by Trading Yesterday) The whole song is a great Kakashi song tbh
I'm a soldier
Wounded so I must give up the fight
There's nothing more for me, lead me away
Or leave me lying here
(Sound the Bugle Now by Bryan Adams) another perfect Kakashi song even though i cringe at Bryan Adams
Don't you cherish me to sleep
Never keep your eyelids clipped
Hold me for the pops and clicks
I was only for the father's crib
(Calgary by Bon Iver)
OK I will stop myself now but I have so many omg I should make a playlist but the first two songs really apply to Kakashi’s character. They’re about pain and deep loss and regret and just the emptiness you might feel, but finding the strength to carry on and endure anyway, something to keep fighting for.
The third one is a sad one about longing for something you never had, or didn’t have enough of. The whole vibe of it just reminds me of Kakashi tbh.
Hand: How do they show affection to the people they care about?
By being there for you, even if it’s not in an obvious way. Even if you get so used to him being your rock you take it for granted. But he’s perceptive even if he doesn’t act like it, and he shows up at the most crucial moment - and is always there when you need him. Whether it’s to protect you physically, or when he noticed you seemed a bit anxious when he left the house that morning so he shows up at your work. He doesn’t do much once he’s there, but you suddenly feel safe and secure again. It’s the practical ways he tries to solve or help solve your problems, but not in any way where you feel encroached upon. You always feel protected, and like you have a strong foundation beneath you. Because if you have him, you do.
Otherwise, his affection is laughs and jokes with you. Small physical affection. A hand on the small of your back when you’re out. A kiss on the top of your head when you snuggle into him whilst he’s reading. Ruffling your hair when you say something silly but endearing.
Copper: How easy are they to befriend? What is the best way to win them over?
Not the easiest, but not the most difficult. His standoffish attitude, especially when he’s younger, only deters those who wouldn’t have been a good match for him anyway. You have to be persistent enough to not be deterred by his attempts to push you away, but you also have to be perceptive enough to recognise what he’s doing and what he wants. Some empathy and patience goes a long way in this regard, but also to recognise that there’s something about him that makes all the effort worth it?
That goes a long way in endearing you to him.
Once he realises that you seem to see something in him - which is obvious from all the effort you’re putting in - he starts to receive you a little better. Challenging his preconceptions and ideas - whether intellectually or physically, is something he enjoys, and he respects a good challenge. It can be a sparring match, or just witty conversation, or a game of shogi or go - he might wanna prove how smart he is, but he’s also looking to be proven wrong.
Gold: What was their first kiss with their S/O like?
Gold is already done, and is here!
Word Prompts here - Send me a character and a word and I’ll answer it!
This is a drabble for this absolutely beautiful piece of art by @enchantedpendant, for an event hosted by the @the-kakashi-lounge-blog. I am just so honored to be able to write for this. It’s truly a stunning piece, and the emotion in Sai’s face is so lovely, I couldn’t resist trying to capture a little bit of it in words. <3

Learning Loyalty
“Who are you loyal to?”
The recalled words were louder than the sounds of the village—a rarity for Sai. Typically, he was hypervigilant. Bits of conversations coalesced in his hearing as he walked, scraps of information that carried no meaning on their own because he lacked the framework in which they should be placed. Names came without attached faces, and jokes were passed around like encrypted codes to which Sai didn’t hold the key.
Still, Sai listened, and remembered all he could.
“You didn’t betray Danzō for his ethical follies, and you didn’t betray him to save Konoha.”
Sai could hear the sizzling of food in a hot skillet, smell the umami and saccharine scents from street vendors. He didn’t stop to buy any, although he now could; Ryō burned in his pouch, available to be used at his own, personal discretion.
He wasn’t hungry.
The phantom remnant of the seal on his tongue burned too much for him to eat.
“If you fought only for Naruto…”
A bright guffaw sounded from somewhere to Sai’s right. He glanced over, raising a pale hand to shield his eyes from the glare of the noon sun. Between short curtains fluttering in the early spring breeze, Sai could see yellow hair and a brown ponytail. The man called Iruka was frowning, but Sai couldn’t tell if his anger was genuine or falsified. Naruto seemed unbothered by it, regardless, and proceeded to shovel ramen into his mouth at a pace even their Rokudaime might have had difficulty matching.
Sai kept walking.
Some time passed, but Sai’s feet carried him on, uncertain though he was of his destination.
That was something he had tried not to think much about, until Kakashi’s words brought the difficult decisions that came with autonomy to an uncomfortable highlight.
“Then who would you be loyal to if Naruto were no longer here?”
The hospital had been expanded since the end of the War, with an entire wing dedicated to physical rehabilitation of wounded shinobi. Sai could see messy pink hair through a recently-constructed window. Sakura pointed up at something on a wall Sai couldn’t quite see. Captain Yamato followed her direction and nodded thoughtfully, responding too lowly for Sai to hear.
Their Captain had taken to the limelight better than Sai had. After his contributions to the reconstruction efforts, villagers called his name when he passed, waved or brought him fruit baskets when he passed through the market. Sai was no expert, but he could see the blush that stained Yamato’s cheeks in those times, and he thought it was due to pleasure rather than solely embarrassment.
Yamato had found his place in the village.
Sai began walking again before his former teammates could see him.
“Will your loyalty then go to me?”
At some point, Sai’s feet carried him to the base of Hokage rock. Carved faces stared across the treetops and the roofs of buildings, their six united stares lighting on every member of the village—every shinobi, every child, every civilian shopkeeper or carpenter.
Sai hesitated for only a moment. Then, he set a sandal on the cliff face, and began to ascend.
In minutes, he found himself perched in the rocky bed of Kakashi’s hair. The carving was new enough that no weeds or lichen had yet claimed their spots upon the stone, but dust and dirt coasted the black of his pants in mere moments.
“To Konoha?”
Sai looked out over Konoha, with the sun at his back, and tried to see the village with the eyes that the Hokages did.
He tried to see the Will of Fire, and the children in the Academy halls that Sai himself had never walked.
He tried to see the workers in the Hokage Tower, filing paperwork on missions that were reviewed by honest eyes—missions that didn’t always end in bloodshed or secrets that could burn a nation to the ground.
He tried to see the people who Naruto called friends, who had tried to welcome Sai with open arms: Hinata, Kiba, Shikamaru, and that blonde woman Sai couldn’t remember the name of, but who seemed to like it when he called her pretty.
Sai knew the Hokages could see all of those things, but his stomach just felt empty. Cool wind ghosted over his skin, chilled his fingertips and bare cheeks.
“Or are you only loyal to yourself?”
Sai couldn’t see any of them.
All he could see was pink hair and (mostly?) honest smiles.
All he could hear was a boisterous laugh, and a (fatherly?) admonishment.
All he could taste was food prepared without an ounce of skill, but bucket-loads of (good?) intention and care. Those were things he could see.
Slowly, Sai’s bare fingers dipped down to his side, to a pouch he had rarely opened since the end of the War.
Smooth paper met Sai’s skin, followed by a simple graphite pencil.
As Sai began to draw, the white noise of scratching graphite filled his ears, louder than any voice.
“Hokage-sama,” Sai greeted, head lowered. He began to fall to a kneel—the stance Danzō had always required—but the voice that had filtered through his mind for the better part of the day smoothly interrupted.
“Kakashi, please.”
Sai hesitated. The voice sounded tired. “Kakashi-sama—” he restarted.
“Just Kakashi.” The accompanying sigh urged Sai to raise his head, just enough to see his new leader.
Kakashi sat cross-legged on the floor, shoulders slumped and his chin resting in one hand. Papers had been strewn around him when Sai entered the office, but they had been messily gathered into a folder at Kakashi’s side in a mere instant, somehow without making a sound.
Was it really acceptable to address the Hokage so informally?
Perhaps it was a test. Danzō had been well-known for those, but in Danzō’s case, the correct answer had always been apparent: do precisely what Danzō said. ROOT had no need for those that thought for themselves outside of the mission, or those that developed and utilized their own moral compasses. If Danzō asked something, he expected it to be done. The only test was whether his followers would obey, no matter the cost.
Sai didn’t know what kind of leader the Rokudaime Hokage of Konoha would be—but he did, to some degree, know what kind of person Hatake Kakashi was.
“Yes, Kakashi-san.” Sai rose from his bow.
Kakashi nodded subtly.
Warmth rose in Sai’s chest. He had chosen right.
“Did you bring something for me?” Kakashi asked, waving a gloved hand towards the paper in Sai’s arms.
“In a way. Would it be alright if I sat with you for a minute, Kakashi-san?”
Kakashi’s dark eyes narrowed slightly, and he cocked his head to the side. The scar that ran down the socket which had once held the sharingan was now on full-display—a constant testament to its owner’s past.
Sai’s past didn’t exist at all.
Kakashi gestured to the floor in front of him. Sai quickly sat, mirroring Kakashi’s position. He brought out his pencil—recently resharpened with his kunai—and began drawing.
Occasionally, he glanced up, scanning Kakashi’s features only to find charcoal eyes already watching him, cool and waiting.
That didn’t bother Sai; in ROOT, no one existed without many eyes on them.
Few times before, however, had Sai felt as though he had truly been seen, and never before had it been done so openly.
The sound of scratching only filled the room for two minutes, or three. Sai hadn’t needed much to complete his piece, hadn’t needed much to realize exactly what it was he had been missing—
Sai turned the paper around. Kakashi’s eyes fell down to it.
“I don’t know Konoha very well,” Sai said softly. The sun’s light was nearly gone, the last of it fading in through the Hokage’s Office windows in oranges and pinks, originating from a bright crescent nearly hidden behind the Hokages’ stone faces. “But I want to, if you’ll let me learn. Until then…” he held the sketch forward. “This is the answer to your question.”
Kakashi’s fingertips skimmed the page. They gently closed around it, careful to create no creases as he took it, holding the sketch close.
Sai’s face felt oddly warm and his heart pounded strongly as he waited for the Hokage’s response.
After several long moments, Kakashi looked up.
It wasn’t until Sai saw the way Kakashi’s mask stretched over his cheeks that he knew, for certain, that he had captured the man’s smile perfectly.
All the others, he had known—Naruto, Sakura, Yamato. He had replicated them all.
Sai had even come to learn his own smile—a real one—in the last few months of “Sai’s” existence.
Now, he had learned Kakashi’s.
Soon—he hoped—he would get the chance to learn even more. Somehow, Sai felt that the more he understood the people he called ‘friends’—the more he would understand what ‘loyalty’ truly meant.
“That’s good enough for me,” Kakashi murmured.
His voice filled Sai’s mind for a long while to come.
It filled his heart, too, with a warmth that was steadily becoming familiar.
One day, Sai was certain that he would learn the meaning for that warmth, too.
heyyy for the character ask meme, if you havent already: Near please! i’d like to know your thoughts on the birthday boi ;D
*nervous laughter* I’m in danger
do I like them: Respect and love to all Near stans out there but he’s not one of my favorite characters. That doesn’t mean I can’t appreciate his importance to DN and see why other people love him.
5 good qualities: Methodical, careful, willingness to accept help/cooperate, resourceful, deeply thoughtful
5 bad qualities: Sometimes indecisive, lethargic, amoral or conflicting morals, struggles with identity as L, can come off as callous
favourite panels: Probably from the C-Kira one-shot when we see how he thinks about the first L and Kira after the case is over. That was really shocking and fascinating to me.
I have to admit he looks pretty cute all surprised when Light opened his watch at the end:
otp: I don’t ship it but I definitely see the appeal of Mello/Near
brotp: Gevanni or all the Wammy’s boys together
ot3: haven’t thought about it
notp: Light
best quote: this bit about how he views gods~
head canon: That he regrets blowing up that shinigami facial recognition device he was building in the 2019 one-shot. I think he was onto something with it and it would have come in handy the next time Ryuk comes back to play. I imagine him as one of those people who always speaks very softly, and if they ever raise their voice even slightly the whole room goes silent. I imagine that playing with toys and models helps him to focus and sort his ideas, similar to how L liked to sit a certain way. He visualizes the pieces as clues or individual ideas making up a great whole. I think he likes memory mnemonics, crafting or making toys/representations of things that are important to him, and has a quiet fear that L is becoming or is obsolete.
for the character meme: near, please and thank you! :D
I got this one 3x haha wow, sure thing!
NEAR:
My otp for them:
Meronia is the one that seems to have the most canon basis to me, and I think Near really genuinely cared about Mello a lot. Gets me in the feels. I like the one-sided angstiness, and I ship it in AUs
ALSO I think he could be incredibly interesting with Light. I love it when they straight up hate each other and how much he disregards Light's bullshit, but I also think it's very possible they could really get along and have quite a bit in common in different circumstances, too
My brotp for them:
Near and Gevanni is such a good pair for some reason, like just look at this and tell me it's not super cute lol
Any other ships:
Sutenia if it's in a situation where the age gap isn't weird
Near and any of the other Wammy's kids seems fairly legit to me, actually. He could probably vibe well with Matt and Linda, and I even think it might be weirdly fun to see him with B in an AU where B isn't a sketchy murder boy
Their best friend:
I don't think he has one, and he seemed a bit lonely in the latest one-shot to me
My favorite AU of them:
I want him to quit being L because he seems to be tired of it and to go work at a board game cafe!
My favorite nickname for them:
Sheep is a cute one, haha. I like when people just call him Nate as well
My favorite outfit they wear:
Oh definitely this one
Defining color:
White
Would I date them:
Possibly, I think we would vibe pretty well. But first we would both have to actually go outside hahaha
First impression:
Didn't like him and thought he was a poor man's L the first time I watched the anime. Started to love him once I read the manga and was like dang, this kid is actually p legit
Current impression:
One of my top faves, I like his personality and his outlook and he makes me laugh and feel sad both, and so much of what he says is just like, yup that's a big mood my guy
