Today’s Gender of the Day is: Midbinary!

Midbinary (also called endobinary) is an umbrella term for genders that are between the binary, connected to the binary in some way, move between binary genders, or exist as a combination of binary genders. It can be considered the opposite of abinary, which is an identity in no way related to the binary.

Identities that fall within the midbinary spectrum include androgyne, demigirl, demiboy, boyflux, girlflux, and many more labels that reference the binary or express a combination of binary genders.

Midbinary individuals are not automatically neutral or genderless in any way, nor is it automatically a multigender identity. There is a lot of variety in midbinary experiences and midbinary people can have any kind of gender, pronouns, or presentation.

Demimidbinary

A gender identity that is partially Midbinary, partially being any non-binary gender that is related to the Gender Binary or derived from either binary gender, while also being partially another gender or genders. 

Complementary to Demiabinary.

Etymology

From Latin, “dimidis” to “demi”, meaning “half  “Amid”, shorted to “Mid”,  English meaning “Middle” + “binary”, referring to “a system with two different things/values“. Coined by Gent (Gender-Jargon), 2021.

Flag The flag is a simple combination of the demigender flag and the midbinary flag created by user beyond-mogai-pride-flags in 2019. The flag consists of eleven horizontal, solid-colored stripes. Asexuality: experiencing lack of sexual attraction, whether circumstantially, partially, or entirely.

Midbinarity, Midbinaryness (midbinary-ness), Midbinariety, Endobinarity, Endobinariety, or Endobinaryness (endobinary-ness): non-binary gender category of experiences that reference or associate with one or both binary genders.
