Day 4 of Entangled Teens Urban vs. Epic Fantasy Week. Which Side Am I On? Team Urban or Team Epic Fantasy and Why.
There is definitely pros and cons to both Urban and Epic Fantasy, but I do have to say I’m Team Epic all the way. I feel that in the world we live in today we all need an escape for me, epic fantasy is that escape. I just love the worlds the authors create and the cultures that come with it.
Also, who doesn’t love magic? (maybe people who don’t really like fantasy, but still). Don’t get me wrong Urban fantasy is great and I do like many an urban fantasy novel, but epic fantasy just takes this idea of magic or the ability to control something to the next level.
My Top 5 Epic Fantasy books:
1. Garden of Thorns by Amber Mitchell
2. Throne of Glass Series by Sarah J. Maas
3. In Truth and Ashes by Nicole Luiken
4. Red Queen trilogy by Victoria Averyard
5. Otherselves Series by Nicole Luiken
Reasons Why I Love These Books:
1. I loved Garden of Thorns so much! It is one of my most recent reads. The characters and the romance just won me over. Highly recommend and so far one of my favorite reads of 2017.
2. If you love fairies, strong women, magic, and assassins. Celena Saradothen is all those and more and it is honestly a wonderful series. Again if you love romance and fantasy, read this series. The final book in the series comes out in September 2017.
3. When I read In Truth and Ashes I really enjoyed it. This was the final book in the Otherselves series and was a great conclusion to the series. I loved the different worlds and the abilities the main character possessed.
4. The Red Queen trilogy is honestly so unique. I love the idea that blood controls how this society is run. Honestly, this is so cool! I have read a few other books similar to this and honestly, this book is great. The magic, romance, and a blood controlled society, I’m in!
5. This series is so good! This series is about mirror selves and that there are four mirror worlds that go with them. Then there is one main world that houses the original selves. This series is also unique and I honestly have read nothing like it before.
I hope you guys enjoyed Entangled Teens Urban vs. Epic Fantasy Week! I know I did.
