So I ran a hunger games sim w some of the sherbs and not-sherbs for funsies and god damn was it fucking hilarious. Here are some highlights bc somehow it ended up being painfully ridiculously canon:

Icarus killed most of the more fem-leaning Sherbs, made it to like the final four… then proceeded to fall out of a tree and drown in a lake which is like… yeah that’s Ic 🤷

Jett, Martyr, and Midas all had explosives the entire time and used the hell out of them

Wren and Midas became besties and Midas patched Wren up several times (side note Wren spent the entire time picking flowers while Midas gathered supplies and murdered everyone)

Midas has the highest kill count (I think it was around 8)

Tartarus died of dysentery day 1 which felt very very fitting

Icarus and Sherbert questioned their sanity the most (like four times each)

Caine kept forcing people to kill each other and if they refused, he killed them. Which like… yeah that also tracks (Caine died of dysentery)

Ash made it to the final two bc they kept running away from fights and hiding in trees

Ajax won!!!! Surprise surprise fighting death game boy won

I have so much to say about ajax and rayko after the stuff today—

but first off: [spoiler warning for eod lore bits on 9/7]

i fucking love the idea that Icarixis is just sitting in the world port watching all of it happen, and when rayko goes through the rift Icarixis just like- *pauses the sitcom they’ve been watching*

and just pulls rayko into the worldport like “BRO WHAT WAS ALL THAT ABOUT?? YOU LEAVING YOUR BROTHER?? DA FUCK??” 🤨

and then by the end of it is like “fine okay yeah go back to your partners, that does still fix the problem of you being here…” 🙄

and i love that for them

Thinking about how “useless” seems to be Ajax’s version of “failure”

How Rondael keeps on calling them and their machines useless as a way to get under Ajax’s skin,

How Centross would call Icarus a failure in corruption to get under their skin

How Ajax can’t be useless, he can’t because if they’re useless what’s the point in keeping them on the team, what the point in keeping them alive

How Icarus can’t be a failure, they can’t because if they’re a failure then what is the point in loving or caring about them if everything they do is wrong

i have ajax thoughts. and the thoughts are that their classpect is still affecting them post-season 8

so ajax is maid of beath, right? one interpretation of the class maid is built on it being homophonous with "made." and breath is the aspect of freedom, of malleability, of detachment. one could say that ajax is, in their very being, made of expanse, made of the wind. breath players have been shown to, among other things, disperse themselves in the air.

and what does ajax do when the tornado makes them lose it a little (or a lottle)? they are pulled to it by some unknown force, seem detached about the consequences of the storm, and lose their sense of self and logic.

getting swept up in the tornado satiates the "feelings in [their] bones." makes them "feel all the things" and shows them how "it's all connected." at times, it seems like ajax considers the two one unit, talking to it like they are collaborating and taking personal offence when ronnie call the storm a hassle. something about it is "in the air everywhere" and makes things "blurry."

it seems like there's no more hard line where the wind ends and ajax starts. they directly say "it's like me." maybe that is not a statement of kinship but instead, "it's, like, me," a statement of sameness.

they are also insistent that the tornado is not a symbol of destruction, but of change and movement. this lines up with the aspect of breath. there is so much freedom in the storm that for them, it provides freedom from the self (whether they want it or not) and again, they get very worked up about this, almost insulted that someone would think about the storm in this supposedly incorrect way.

ajax is so in tune with the air this season because they are MADE of the air, physically and metaphysically.

is this intentional? probably not! if i remember correctly, sherb has never read homestuck. i am thinking about this way too hard. but that's the joy of fandom so. L. read my silly thoughts.
