the way they go out of their way to emphasize how short a human's lifespan is from the perspective of an elf..... diabolical....
keroro priding himself on being the best at hide and seek when he was a kid (with the added implication that for him/his kind it's also a military training) and then finding out he got rusty and actually sucks ass at it as an adult (meaning another thing he built his self esteem on gets crushed) but it doesn't really matter because he still had fun with fuyuki...... awesome stuff
I think that's possible, and if that were the case, then someone like you could hand an infected sword to someone like me, I'd be incapacitated by the initial disease, and you could cure me of it, but then theoretically, the Raith could still have possessed me while I was out, not controlling me at first, but lying dormant in my body until an opportune moment. Like when you and your friends left Glade Home. Do you hear what I'm saying, Beverly?
truly one hottest murph moments of all time
they're so cute plssss
SO ARE WE GOING TO FUCKING TALK ABOUT THAT???? WE CAN'T JUST LEAVE THIS HERE GUYS.
LEAVE HIM ALONE. STOP STOP NO THAT WAS HORRIFIC GOD WHAT????
'Maybe you and I are both damned, but we can choose to do something and leave it better than it was before.' This moment in ep 97 lives rent free in my mind forever, and I've been wanting to draw it ever since I first watched it live. I have so many feelings about these two, and their relationship over the course of the campaign (and beyond) means so much to me. While not yet fulfilled or entirely convinced of his own worth, at this point in the story, Caleb knows he’s on the right path. That alone is progress enough, but that he uses his own experiences to help another escape those same chains of guilt says such a lot for his development. When he tells Essek that his ‘venom’ was learned, he’s also talking about himself and his own history of being manipulated and gaslit, with the implication being that it can be un-learned just as efficiently. Essek describes himself as selfish and as a coward, forever putting his own wants and desires first, yet over the course of his journey with the Nein we see his priorities change drastically. Having friends gives him people to care about, something he’s never had before, and it changes his outlook on life completely.
I think it says so much about the other characters too, that they befriended this person they barely knew, and when he was revealed to have done such terrible things, their first reaction was to give him comfort and an opportunity to atone. Jester held his hand while he confessed, and afterwards, while they didn’t immediately forgive him, they saw the good in him and wanted him to be better, which ultimately feels like what the entire campaign was about, leaving places (and people) better than they found them.
They began their adventure wholeheartedly believing that they were both, in their own way incapable of love. But, in the end, no matter how damaged and guilt-stricken they were, they found in each other a kindred spirit, a path to redemption, and ultimately, love. Whether their relationship lasted for a couple of years or multiple decades is irrelevant, what matters is that while it did they had a happy and fulfilled life together. (tl;dr I just bloody love these two wizards you guys. T.T) Anyway, I finally decided to paint this scene earlier in the week, using my newfound favourite website Magic Poser Web to set up their poses for reference, then drew everything in Clip Studio Paint. I'm not 100% happy with some of it, ad the background isn't as I imagined it to be when I watched the stream, but it's close enough that I'm satisfied!
