the Design Concept for crowley is ‘not sure if he has too many bones or not enough bones but its certainly an incorrect number of bones and he shouldnt be allowed to bend them that way’, the concept for aziraphale is ‘Soft Bastard’
The cops very clearly planted evidence on him because they had to make an arrest because all eyes were on them and whoever actually did the deed was making them look stupid.
Why would the real killer hero have kept the weapon on his person and traveled two states over while carrying it and a manifesto in his bag, conveniently turning the crime into a federal matter? The same guy whose bag they found in a park, filled with monopoly money? Why did the police turn off their bodycams, take Luigi's stuff, drive a block away, turn their bodycams back on, go back into the restaurant, and then arrest him?
From the moment of his arrest, even left-of-center media has been presuming his guilt without examining anything (e.g. calling him "the killer" instead of "alleged" or "accused") and then when I say he didn't do it, the nearest person chimes in with some quip that tells me they think he did do it but should go free anyway. Don't get me wrong, I would have the same attitude if he had done it. But he didn't. It makes me feel like the only sane person in the world, even among my staunchly leftist friends.

I know i've said it before, but if you are concerned it could be real and not a scam, the best way to avoid getting scammed is to return contact separately.
Here's how that works:
say you get a text from your internet provider, let's say it's Comcast (whom i hate). So you have this text that says it's from Comcast about your bill with a contact number and a clickable link -- could be real, could be a scam.
Don't touch anything about this text. Open a web browser and look up the customer service number for Comcast. Or get the number from the bill they send you. However you do it, get the contact info for Comcast from a trusted source, like an official phone directory or the Comcast website itself.
Get in touch with them using that information.
So. Let's run the example both ways it could go.
If it IS a scam: you reach out to Comcast and tell them you were contacted about a problem with your bill, they look you up in their customer database, and they tell you there is no problem with your bill.
If it's NOT a scam, you do the same thing, they look you up, and they explain the problem. In this case, neither Comcast nor the employees involved give a single shit whether or not you clicked the link in the text vs. going through their official website.
This works the same for the your bank, the IRS, Amazon, political causes, charities, everything.
By handling any questionable incoming calls to action this way, you significantly protect yourself from scams and malware and shit
You can do this with phone calls too!!! If a company calls you asking for some info or about a problem with you card/account/whatever you can ask them for a reference number for your case and call back later. You don't have to give a reason but if you feel awkward you can just say you have a meeting in 2 minutes but can call back another time to deal with it.
If it's not scam they'll be like sure, here's the reference number. Then you follow the instructions above, call the separate number you find yourself on a reputable website and give that person the reference number. And they'll help you resolve the issue.
Don't let scammers scare you over the phone into giving them sensitive information!!!!

Ok, so…
Good Things:
- sad wet cat yearning Crowley is always a joy in fic and it was an absolute treat to see it in live action
- Demon!aziraphale! You can tell Michael was having so much fun chewing the furniture and getting to roll out another accent.
- Jesus was adorable, enough said.
- ‘Why give me Crowley? Why make me complete and then take it away?’- that line was everything to me. 🥺
- Controversially I love Asa and Anthony, I just wish they didn’t come at the cost of the real A and C. 🥺
Bad things:
- Crowley gambling away the Bentley felt really out of character and the whole gangster subplot was really pointless.
- All the ominous buildup to the Second Coming just kinda…wasn’t there?
- Jesus had no real purpose and his plot line was ultimately pointless.
-A and C never got a proper chance to talk about their relationship and the fallout from S2
- God. 😤
- The ending. Just…all of that.
Ok so overall thoughts. I was actually pleasantly surprised by the finale overall. It didn’t feel rushed to me at all and every time I paused to take notes I was always amazed by how much of it was still left. Crowley’s angry yearning was a heartbreaking delight to watch, and while the whole gambling side story was a bit meh, Azi swooping in with his cryptic crosswords to save the day was brilliant.
Jesus was very sweet, and I wish he’d had more to do plot-wise because he really didn’t end up serving much narrative purpose in the end. I didn’t really buy Aziraphale as head archangel though, and I was genuinely surprised that the other angels didn’t turn on him immediately as I thought it was heavily hinted in S2 that there was a huge ulterior motive behind it all and that he was just going to be used rather than actually in charge. The fact that everyone bar Michael seemed to be obeying him felt really weird. I get that perhaps Derek Jacobi didn’t want to or couldn’t commit to much more than a cameo, but there was so much foreshadowing that something extra nefarious was going on Upstairs, that seeing Aziraphale seemingly happily doing paperwork felt really jarring. Heaven felt eerily empty too, I know they didn’t have the budget for more cast, but just seeing a few random angel NPCs in the background would have helped it feel more like it was.
I think Jesus was underutilised too, and there was a missed opportunity in not having him confront God. That could have been a nice callback to S1 with Adam and Satan and would tie in nicely to the conversation about humans and free will. Jesus’ entire existence is for a predetermined purpose - he’s born, does some preaching then is ritually sacrificed, only to be brought back just to end it all. He has no say in that whatsoever, and I think had he been given the opportunity to talk to God and be like ‘hey mum, this plan of yours is terrible, why do you want me and everyone else dead?’ we’d have had a much more interesting discussion overall. Perhaps he would have refused to take part in the Second Coming at all, or taken charge and done things his way.
As it was, he spent ages trying to find his purpose, gave some sad people pizza and then poofed out of existence. The whole ‘find the lady’ bit went on for far too long and to be perfectly honest, aside from the initial confusion from Crowley’s words setting him on his own quest of self discovery, I genuinely don’t understand what purpose it served. Mark Addy did great with what he was given, but his character’s purpose eluded me.
Everything leading up to the ending was great, and I really loved that both Aziraphale and Crowley got to say their piece to God and question her motives. (Great performance by her btw, she just exuded smugness!) As soon as they put forward the idea of having a world without angels and demons etc I thought that was such a great twist, that ‘our’ world was the new one, but them dying to make it happen just felt so horrible and pointless.
The moment in the garden when Crowley told Azi that what he really truly wants is for the humans to have a fair chance, and you could see Aziraphale’s heart break a little bit because he recognises that he’s choosing the greater good over their own happiness just about made me cry. They’ve spent so long denying themselves true happiness for factions that hate them both, all the while doing their bit to help humans, and this is the thanks they get?
I never wanted them to be human, and in every version of the ending I’d foreseen I always assumed that either heaven and hell were permanently disbanded, or god buggered off into the aether and humanity just got on with it, but I always assumed that A and C were still there, immortal guardians, doing their own thing at last and having all of eternity to themselves. I suppose that would rather cancel out the whole idea of humans being free if the supernatural and having free will, with two immortal miracle makers on standby for any crisis or to change things as they saw fit, so i suppose them being powerless/mortal makes more sense in that context, but it’s still not fair. At least in that case, while they’d probably only have a handful of decades to spend with each other, they’d still have all their memories and life experiences to share.
The lack of a kiss was very disappointing tbh. I know a lot of folk love the idea of them being romantic but asexual, (which I totally vibe with btw, I think all interpretations are valid, whether they’re defiling every shelf in the bookshop on the reg or just having chaste little dinner dates together, they love each other exactly as deeply), but even if it had just been a heartfelt embrace in the garden before they made the same choice, at least then they’d have been able to have a moment together that wasn’t as impulsive and heartbreaking as it was in the Final Fifteen and they’d finally get to be ‘an us’. The way they looked at each other really made me think we were finally going to get that moment, and then the subject of the humans came up and well, that was that.
I wouldn’t mind the lack of kiss if we hadn’t had such a devastating one in S2, they deserved a much better one!
THAT SAID! I saw someone say in another comment that the little finger kiss we did get (which I have to say was achingly tender and sweet and very in character) was almost like Aziraphale returning the kiss from S2, as he was touching his lips almost in disbelief afterwards and this was almost like a callback to that, so I feel slightly better about it…but only slightly. 😤
Tbh as much as I’d have loved a full on love confession, I think they’ve made it very obvious that they’re each other’s everything, and the way they looked at each other spoke volumes. They’re such insanely talented and emotive actors, they could have had the entire episode muted and you’d understand everything from their expressions alone. Still, I’d have liked to see a proper apology from Aziraphale, (he only asked to be forgiven, and never truly apologised which was a bit of a cop out and I honestly expected more from him after all this time) and more of a conversation about what they wanted for each other before shit hit the fan.
I felt like the decision to sacrifice themselves wasn’t even well thought out either - god is capricious and self centred which tracks, but I’m not even sure what the point was for her to even give them that choice - surely there was a way to have both their happy ending and a good one for humanity. They even had the perfect bit of exposition when Crowley started writing in the blank book and it essentially became the new Book of Life - wouldn’t that have been a great idea, rewriting their own universe to be how it should have been, without all the politics of heaven and hell? Perhaps writing god out of it entirely? As it ends up, every character we’ve ever met is gone, and as if they never were so what was the point of it all? Adam being so human he rewrites fate was like THE point of the book, but it was all apparently for nothing in the end as everything just got erased and recreated. Apparently he and Jesus were supposed to meet in the original six episode version and I wish we’d been able to see how that would have played out.
Also, in s2 we had all that shock and awe over the power of their combined miracle - surely that would have been something to focus on to save the day, the true combined power of their love, shared openly for the first time without fear and have the be the thing which makes the difference.
Having the duo sacrifice themselves feels like such a cop out, because like, it’s God, surely if you’re willing to make up an entirely new universe for funsies, you’d allow the two creations you’ve been amused by for centuries to enjoy it too, and the fact that they’re not just dead, but written out of existence in the end makes it even worse. (And like, what even happens to god and Satan after that anyway? Are they just chilling in the bookshop for all eternity now?)
I totally get the idea of ‘love enduring’ which the director has talked about, and really do love the thought that versions of them will always find each other in every universe, or that they get reincarnated forever so they get to experience all of history as humans, and live and love in ways they couldn’t do as their original selves, but it kills me that they didn’t get that in their own one after everything they’ve been through.
I’d have liked it more if they’d done almost a callback to the other seasons with flashbacks going through time, but showing different versions of them meeting and falling in love, then ending on the bookshop AU like they did. At least that way it would emphasise that their love was a fixed factor in that universe, that they’d always find each other and live many lives together no matter what, not just a one in a million meetcute between strangers who will only have a few decades together rather than eternity.
Asa and Anthony really are adorable together, I can’t lie, (and it’s especially lovely seeing Asa be the one to chase after Anthony in contrast to Crowley going too fast for Aziraphale, and having the Metatron/Eric be the one to encourage Asa to go after him was a nice touch as well) and seeing them stargazing together in their South Downs cottage at the end was so so lovely, but they aren’t our ineffable duo, not really. They deserved the universe, and they didn’t even get a proper goodbye. 😩
I’ve been in such a weird mood all day since I watched it, kind of emotionally numb at times, then angry - I think I’m going through all the stages of grief at once tbh.
I’m so grateful we got this at all, and I do genuinely love the ending of the two of them stargazing together, holding hands with wedding bands visible and things, but the fact it isn’t ✨them✨ is just so hard to accept. 😭😩
Luckily we have AO3 and a host of insanely talented people in this fandom who will no doubt fill the hole in all our hearts with beautiful works in the coming days and for that I am exceptionally grateful. 💜
I can already tell that Asa/Anthony will be a popular topic as it’s not often you get to see a literal fanfic meetcute become canon, so I’m looking forward to reading the inevitable fics!
I’ve had a series in the works of them (Azi and Crowley that is) meeting at different points in history aka S1/2 so I think I’ll definitely be cracking on with that to bring myself some joy and hopefully others too eventually when I’ve written enough to post.
