Continuing in my efforts to explore bits of Portland I just haven't gotten around to, I finally went up to Rocky Butte. I guess I was expecting more than some stonework on top of a hill (trails? What trails?) but it was a neat opportunity to examine urban communities of mosses and lichens growing on the rocks.

Once I was pointing out all the stuff growing on the outside of trees to my partner and he was like "um, are any parts of the tree just like, tree?" and I was just like "no :)"
