Life and Death AU where Levi (Life) is constantly annoyed by all the weeds and plants that sprout up in his wake getting pollen and dirt on everything, and Erwin (Death) is tortuously lonely because every living thing he touches withers and decays beneath his fingertips leaving no room for intimacy of any kind.

So, Life (who cannot be killed) meets Death (who kills everything he touches). They keep their distance at first, cautious of the potential danger, but eventually they lower their walls and relax around each other. Turns out, Life was cursed just as much as Death. Levi has the burden of surviving everyone he loves, and never succumbing to death himself. Because of this, he tends to keep to himself too.

Levi’s companionship mends Erwin’s lonesomeness, and Erwin mends Levi’s.  For a time, they were content like that. Keeping each other company but always remaining a safe distance from the other. Until one day, Levi decides to test the boundaries. It sends Erwin into a panic when Levi suddenly tries to close the distance between the two of them. He darts away not wanting to risk killing Life, but Levi explains the paradox. If life cannot die but death always kills, who’s to say what would really happen if the two came together? Wouldn’t their natures balance out? It takes some convincing, but eventually Erwin agrees to try.

When they touch, all of their fear melts away. It’s replaced by a warmth Erwin has never known. They’re okay. Although, something interesting does occur. 

When Levi is with Erwin, life stops sprouting up around him uncontrollably. And, When Erwin is with Levi, grass ceases to wither at his feet. He’s finally able to experience the touch he’s been craving. Together, they find balance, and the company they’ve both been craving for eons apart. The only problem now is that Erwin doesn’t want to ever let go.

6 of Wands.

Equilibrium.

In the middle of its life, a Star is balanced between two tremendous forces: gravity pulls the burning gases inward and the pressure gradient forces the mass outward. Hydrostatic equilibrium is reached when the forces putting out equal those pulling in.

A star in a state of equilibrium represents this period of stability in the middle of a long, turbulent past.

Illumination and respite can be found in the balance between seemingly opposing forces, which earlier brought only trial and tribulation. Now is the time to take a breath, celebrate achievements and reflect on the steps taken to reach them.

Revisiting the mentor. Balance is restored.
