Equipe E is doomed by the narrative and I hate everything about it. They will never get a semblance of a happy ending. They will be heroes in the minds of few and the price they paid for it was too high.

Because at the end of the day, they were are seriously inexperienced team who was sent repeatedly on missions that were extremely high level. They were placed on the same level as agents who had been working at the Order for decades.

At the end of the day, they were always doomed from the start. It started with Liz standing alone in the bunker, on a mission Verissimo admitted was too high level for a first mission. It will end the same way, with a team buried in the ground after a mission that was too high level for a team that never even got to finish their first year at the Order.

Equipe e is understandably cautious of the more unconventional islanders after everything that happened with the inhabitants of the holy cradle. Some like Cesar being cold or even downright hostile.

The islanders try to give them patience, though these new arrivals don’t speak much about where they came from it’s clear to the more seasoned fights on the server that they’ve been through hell.

Maybe thats why equipe e’s first ally on the island is fit. Liz and thiago feeling like they’re almost looking in a mirror while the golden trio hope they’re looking at their future.

One where their continued fight has left scars but not left them broken. One where they’re still able to be kind.

Fit helps arthur get used to not having an arm. He bonds with cesar over hacking. Him and liz and thiago swap stories of the horrors they’ve seen.

Joui doesn’t know how to feel about fit. He seems to good to be true. He knows the other members of the team feel it too, but they put it aside for the sake of information gathering.

Its just that he has a feeling that’s exactly what fit is doing too.

He corners him one day, sword in hand. Fit calls him kid and he bristles, there are very few people left who can call him that and fit is not one of them. He demands fit explain why he’s gathering information on not just them but the islanders as well. What does he hope to gain by lying to everyone around him?

Fit takes a deep breath and tries to put away the thought that joui is so similar to a younger him that it hurts. That the scars he gained during the his first real war feel fresh and aching.

He decides to tell joui the truth. That he was sent here on a mission much like them. Joui asks if his mission includes anyone purposefully getting hurt. Fit responds no, or atleast he doesnt think so. Why would you ever accept a mission like that is the first thing out of joui’s mouth. It takes a second before fit tells him there are somethings worse than death and understanding floods through joui’s mind.

“Let me help,” he eventually says.

“Joui,” fit sighs, “this is dangerous and you’ve been through enough”

“And you haven’t?” He was stubborn, it was one trait of his that fit wished him and joui didn’t share. “Let me help, at least for the peace of mind that if you can’t stop people getting hurt. I can”

Fit relents, and if after a while joui starts calling fit fit-senpai when its just them and occasionally ramon. Well then no one has to know.
