Plant of the Day
Monday 22 June 2020
The fireworks in the Beth Chatto Dry Garden are the burnt orange flower spikes of Eremurus × isabellinus 'Cleopatra' (foxtail lily). The clumps of sword-like, blue-green leaves start to die back as the blooms appear. The plants have starfish-like tubers which thrive in very well-drained soil in a sunny, sheltered site.
