Bass Lecarde (Raging Wolf)
Age: 22
Birthdate: March 24, 1821
Biography: To say that Bass’ life started in quite an unorthodox way is an understatement. Born to a mother who perished shortly after he was born, and barely receiving any love from his father, Albert Lecarde, the boy came to grow up in his youth believing himself to be cursed. True, his father’s friend, Thomas Morris, seemed pleasant enough, yet he barely saw the man already, and his father warned him not to talk too much, lest he spill some of his “special secrets”.
Those secrets are linked to the dark arts and those who practice them.
In the middle of the night, on a full moon, Bass Lecarde was dragged by his father through the forest on the outskirts of Raluca Village, and to a collection of individuals wearing dark robes with knives, chanting strange hymns that didn’t sound remotely like those in the church. Albert Lecarde offered the boy up as a sacrifice, the goal being to resurrect Count Dracula, or at least progress the process of his eventual revival, a blood sacrifice being needed, preferably one of innocence.
However, before Bass’ life could be ended, the already terrified boy found the ritual interrupted by a company of inhuman creatures descending on the cultists, tearing them apart with reckless abandon or driving them off, his father retreating with the survivors, leaving the boy behind at the mercy of the beasts.
Werewolves.
However, to Bass’ shock, the towering monsters didn’t attack him. Rather, they appeared to look at him with a sense of familiarity, as if he were one of their own.
Moments later, that assessment would prove to be so.
The first transformation was painful and unexpected, and Bass was uncertain of what was even happening to him. But, in mere moments, he had become another being entirely, a strange hybrid between man and wolf, an aftereffect of the ritual he had been subjected to.
He had become one with the clan of man-beasts.
With no other options and with humanity having been stripped away from him, young Bass grew with and became intertwined with the ways of the man-beasts, which consisted of more than just werewolves. Over the years, and through grueling training, Bass rose through the ranks and became a respected, albeit somewhat feared member, of the local lycanthrope tribe, earning the moniker of “Raging Wolf” by his peers.
Human by day, Bass and his fellow pack members would frequent the village to regain some semblance of their former lives, even if Bass himself mostly stuck by the edge of the woods, not wishing to draw the eye of his father, who had presumed the boy dead.
Then, as Thomas Morris and Albert Lecarde were called away, Raluca Village was attacked by the forces of darkness. Bass witnessed this event himself, earning the ire of those who had seen him in his alternate form, believing him to be involved somehow in the destruction.
Scampering away, Bass soon found himself wondering just what had occurred regarding Thomas Morris’ disappearance, and if it held any ties to anything foul taking place. Following the man’s scent, as well as that of his father’s, Bass came upon a deserted field where there lay several traces of a terrible event occurring, but outside of that, he found no trace of either Morris or Lecarde.
But a strange scent lingered in the air.
Make that three.
All leading to distinctive castles in the distance.
And upon going down the road, he spots a lone traveler: a woman from the village, the blonde daughter of Thomas Morris himself.
What is she doing here, better yet, on the trial to one of these places that smelt as if they housed hordes of demons?
Only one way to find out…
Personality: Even as a youth, or as his clan would say, his pup years, Bass has always been one to challenge and push boundaries, even with his father when the two of them were together. Being left to die, let alone a sacrifice, has left the young man with several trust issues and a reluctance to rely on others, even those who offer it to him.
Among the pack, he is very much the lone wolf.
Confident and boastful of his own skills, Bass has nonetheless gained the respect of his peers and the elders of the tribe; his dedication to his training and abilities is nothing to take lightly. Still, as a youth who was exposed to darkness early on, he has little regard for humans or humanity as a whole, viewing them as annoyances at best and hazards at worst.
Yet he was made to swear to never kill a human, at least those who meant no harm, lest hunting parties be formed, and they encroach on the forest and expose them all. Then would come the silver, and then the bullets…all would be over. Those who turned to the side of evil were to be dealt with, lest they cause problems for everyone else.
Although he holds no care for the legacy of the Belmonts or the sanctity of the Vampire Killer, the girl who comes by the forest’s edge to pick berries from time to time…intrigues him.
Weapons: Claws, fangs, agility, and strength.
Favorite Foods: He hunts for whatever he can find, yet if he had to choose, pork chops are his favorite.
