A song Sirius can’t identify at this point plays loudly in the living room as he dances with Mary. Mary was nice. She was always sweet and smelled like candy. And objectively she was hot, and she was hitting on Sirius, as she had been doing for the better part of the year. So Sirius only grows more annoyed at himself when he keeps glancing at Remus as he sits on the kitchen counter a room over, his eyes closed as he leans his head back against the cupboard. His hair reflected the colorful lights that himself and James had set up before the party. Remus sat there grinning, laughing slightly as Lily and Marlene talked with him.  Mary was right in front of him.  So why did he only want Remus?  Why wouldn't the devil just give him one night free of this temptation?

Sirius deals with a shit load of internalized homophobia/religious trauma and pushes his friends away, ends up alone, but eventually finds himself again.

Sirius’ lips were softer than they looked and Remus never even would have thought that was a possibility, Sirius’ hand went to Remus’ hair almost immediately, pulling him slightly closer. Remus’ free hand went towards Sirius' jaw, tracing his perfect jawline, only as soon as he did, Sirius pulled away. “Umm…” Sirius looked away, pulling his hands away to rub anxiously at his knees. All Remus could think was, oh shit. The silence wrapped around them like cellophane, and Remus couldn’t breathe. Sirius and him both stared at the Bowie poster across from them, Sirius' hand clutching the pendant on his neck, and Remus chewing on his finger nails as he tried to find the courage to say something.

I just posted the first chapter to INFFAB(BFAS) and I feel like I'm going to cry and throw up

unless you've been in this world you guys don't understand how much this fic means to me.
