No, they do not. It would destroy them to do so. Dick got really depressed after killing the Joker, he hated himself. Tim worked to save the lives of assassins from the League of Assassins. Yes, they value life. Stop insulting their characters.

yeah
If I had a nickel for every time I asked a cis straight male comic fan who their favorite or the best Robin was and they answered "Tim" and then when asked why they said some variation of "he's what Robin should be" and then got awkward and quiet if asked what that means exactly I'd have like five nickels. Which isn't a lot but it's weird that it KEEPS happening.
Crime that there are not more fics with Dinah Lance in the young justice ao3 fandom tag, love that version of her so much
if people actually read 90s-00s comics they’d know so many relationships/situations would’ve been made up.
idk how it just hit me but oftentimes people just… skip everything that happened in between 90s comics and new52. like after mirage and their failed wedding dick and kory left, but the titans were still an operating team, just with different leaders. it isn’t until what happens with vic that donna, wally, roy, and garth convince dick to rejoin + lead the titans. he agrees and at this point him and kory are (somewhat) friends. (there’s still tension but they’re, for the most part, chill.) so a new team emerges: the original five, jesse quick, toni monetti, vic/cyborg, kory, & grant emerson. rose wilson was also present as lian’s babysitter, and beast boy was the leader for titans west.
then donna dies and the team disbands again at dick’s order. and wouldn’t you know it, it’s ROY who tries to help him afterwards during outsiders (2003).
i’ve talked (complained) about it before, but roy turning his back on dick would never happen. he wasn’t there when Mirage Happened, and so many people just… skip over what happened afterwards. kory and dick aren’t forever stuck in an awkward limbo of “we almost got married but i cheated on you”* and they do NOT hate each other.
if you’re writing/discussing post-crisis events, include EVERYTHING. actually know what happens after a certain incident because more often than not there will be some sort of reconciliation after.
*dick didn’t cheat, but that is what many characters were led to believe instead of questioning mirage’s motives.
love reading fics with damian and dick as batman and robin but also 90% of them miss one key factor in their dynamic which is them being assholes to eachother
i am an angry person at heart and this translates to whenever i see someone draw dick or jason in the black and red robin suit
Broke :
1. Bruce is an abuser that hates his family
2. Dick has no agency and is a victim to everyone he loves
3. Jason is a mindless killer that has no redeeming qualities
4. Tim is useless and a replacement
5. Damian is a soulless monster without any redeeming qualities
Woke:
1. Bruce is a very damaged man and is very emotionally stunted, but would never want anyone to suffer like he has. He took in all his kids so he can give them a chance to not turn out like him. Even tho he has struggled to express it, he loves those kids so freaking much (and they are the only reason he didn’t die years ago)
2. Dick has a massive heart and loves very strongly. He is capable of understanding a lot his family’s emotional struggles and even their negative traits, but he has the agency to stand up for himself and demand respect from his family when he feels slighted. (due to him being the most emotionally mature in the Batfam he wins most of the time)
3. Jason is very passionate and has strong morals (like Bruce). He protects in a way that makes sense to him. He is even willing to alter his methods for his family because fitting in means more to him even if he doesn’t want to admit it.
4. Tim is just a kid who wants to belong and he’s willing to do anything just to do it. He uses his talents to help his idols and others and leave his needs out just to make sure others are met.
5. Damian is a very damaged boy, he has struggled for most of his life. He has unlearned most of his teachings just to fit in and feel accepted, and he has his family and made friends that help to guide him.
