Tim Drake & The Crane Wives
So I'ma go on a lil but of a rant about the song The Moon Will Sing by The Crane Wives. Ever since I joined the fandom and heard the song afterwards, it's given me Tim Drake vibes, and now I can't listen to it without thinking of it, so I'ma explain my interpretations a lil bit.
"Tell me once again
I could have been anyone, anyone else
Before you made the choice for me
My feet knew the path
We walked in the dark, in the dark
I never gave a single thought to where it might lead"
Starting with verse 1. Tim's trajectory in life changed once he got Robin, I know in the comics it's changed between Dick or Alfred giving it to him/implying he should take it, so it can go to either or both of them.
"All those empty rooms
We could have been anywhere, anywhere else
Instead I made a bed with apathy
My heart knew the weight
Ten years' worth of dust and neglect
We made our peace with weariness and let it be"
Verse 2 is definitely more about his career as a vigilante in general.
"The moon will sing a song for me
I loved you like the sun
Bore the shadows that you made
With no light of my own
I shine only with the light you gave me
I shine only with the light you gave me"
Chorus and post-chorus! Def give me Bruce & Dick & Jason. With the first part "The moon will sing a song for me I loved you like the sun"
being about how he idolized/looked up to them. "Bore the shadows that you made" being toward Bruce and even Dick in certain instances. "With no light of my own I shine only with the light you gave me" being about how Robin is the light of Gotham/the light to Batman's darkness.
