I don't think there's anything wrong with loving people, in poly, all consensually, and allowing everyone to have their own rights to do the same to another, which isn't me. Lying, hiding this wants, mistrust, is the issue.

Someone who will stay loyal and love and befriend who they will is their own independent individual right, I do not wish to cage a person.

They are loyal to the utmost, they have human pleasures as well, and who am I to stop them when it's not my thing, expressing them, safety and living a wonderful life.

The same, for myself, I will say, even if at times I have tried bining myself to the monogamous structures of this world.

People have needs I can not meet, where others can meet them, at certain times, as and when they arise, much like myself, I have these as well.

The problem I face in Stardew sometimes is that like. I want to be at 10 hearts with all the bachelorettes off the principal that I have to be at 10 hearts with fucking Lewis and Demetrius, so why can I not be at that relationship with my actual peers without feeling like I'm doing something wrong? I mean yeah, I can just headcanon that I'm ethically non-monogamous, but I wish there was a platonic 10 hearts option. But also I understand that that would be a lot of work lol.

Hear me out: Yennefer and Geralt are like over 100 years old and they've been around, they know all about ethical polyamory and they don't even bother fighting over only one of them getting Jaskier, and they have each other too.

Jaskier, on the other hand, is like 30 (a baby, comparatively) and has mostly slept with people whose spouses tried to murder him after and he has no idea that you can in fact love more than one person at a time and he's agonizing over the fact that he's been in love with Geralt forever and now has newfound feelings for Yennefer and they're together but they keep being NICE to him and he wants to cry because he simply can't have either of them and it's killing him.

So Jaskier is clueless and unfortunately ethical polyamory involves a lot of healthy open honest communication and Geralt hates that.

Polyamorous people should tell people that they're poly almost right away when they start dating. Not after 2 weeks of texting and emotional bonding and catching feels. Not on the 2nd, 3rd, 10th date. Not after kissing, making out, or fucking. This goes double if you have other partners. Do not lie or embellish the truth. This is a deal breaker for monogamous people and we don't deserve to go through that heartache because you were too slimy or cowardly to tell us what exactly you were after when we first started dating.
