is etho actually ex-catholic

I only know what he's revealed publicly. Everything else is wild speculation based on audience observation, or in some cases outright self indulgent fiction. Etho is really self aware/self conscious to the point of self parody which makes it hard to tell where he actually stands on most things. this ended up being a long ass answer. go my readmore.

That said, people tend to think Etho was raised in some degree of restrictive religious group (Evangelical, Catholic, Mormon, JW are all the groups I've seen theorized) and deconstructed based on the fact that he does not celebrate/acknowledge religious holidays, is a little obsessed with science over woo (see the science object bit in LL and many other examples-it's roleplay that comes across as a bit of self parody because...etho), and was raised by parents who believed in heavy corporal punishment by his own account (see story about the vaccine making him a bad child until his parents spanked it out of him). He also started out with pretty low self esteem and poor social skills, which tends to accompany restrictive upbringing but could be caused by a number of other things. (he's obvs not neurotypical so like..who fuckin knows. he seems happy and confident now so yey our little sunflower :D). He could also just be a bog standard atheist or agnostic dude bro, or a practicing member of a non-evangelical group. (can't be evangelical practicing unless he's a bad evangelical...inb4 etho reads this and starts proselytizing in his videos)

tldr we are making shit up on here based on observed characteristics. features. and mannerisms.

I don't know this dude I'm just obsessed with deconstructing his internet persona's layers to find the person underneath because mcyt is a really weird type of performance art and an internet persona is a bizarre way for someone to interact with themselves and for others to interact with them. it's masks all the way down. possibly ex catholic masks.
