Padre's World: Today the Good Vicar has some sad news. Today I lost my Spiritual Mentor, Spiritual Mother, and Spiritual Friend: Dr Georgie Rodiger. She helped me heal some memories, deal with some childhood wounds, and integrate my ministry and priesthood with my personality and manhood. She taught me how to integrate my vocation and the gift of being truly human. We led retreats together, had dinner together, argued over the mystics together, prayed together but most of all laughed together. Padre's World: About six years ago, the Good Vicar met with a group of African American Pentecostal and Baptist Churches and put them in dialogue that would lay a foundation for what is now the Jubilee Movement in the ACNA. Out of this group of churches, the now Miracle Center Anglican Church and now Fr Antonio Herndon Sr was the only one that saw the process through. Fr Antonio is not only a fellow priest but truly a brother who I'm so grateful that he came this far by faith in a dream that at times was not certain to become a reality. Padre's World: On this Good Friday, God becomes enthroned as King of the world in Jesus. God reveals the fullness of his Glory in the nakedness and shame of a bloody figure lynched from a tree! God disrobes in dishonor so that we may receive the dignity of Deity! We as broken and despised humanity have the assurance of God who is Abba holds us up, cradles us, in the midst of our sufferin’ even though we feel abandoned by the One who is silent. Padre's World: Yesterday the Good Vicar lead a healing retreat at the home of Dr Georgie Rodiger. I taught on the story of the Tale of Two Sons (the Prodigal Son). Padre's World: The Good Vicar celebrated the Feast of the Epiphany by leading a healing retreat at the home of Dr Georgie Rodiger. I spoke on the various ways that God spoke his Word to the Wisemen and how God speaks to us today. Padre's World: The Good Vicar is tired. It has been a long day of dancin', preachin', and celebratin' Communion. My day started out at All Saints Anglican in Hawthorne where once again I danced in front the altar though at first I was self conscious but I had to obey God. I met a fellow Anglican priest from Nigeria. I finished my night by teachin and celebratin Communion at Spirit Alive Eucharistic Community. I am always thankful to the Triune God for the diverse Churches and Eucharistic Communities I serve.
