I was thinking about Queen’s Thief today, as I often do, and thinking especially about how I am the artist I am today because of the Queen’s Thief’s fandom. I got to share my art as a 12-14 year old in the LJ group Sounis, and be encouraged and thanked for it, and that motivated me to keep drawing. I loved drawing anyway, and would probably always have drawn, but QT gave me a drive to get better at drawing and making art so I could share it with people who loved the books as well.
I love this fandom! And I’m so grateful to it, to all the other QT fans to create amazing content, and especially to @meganwhalenturner for creating something immensely beautiful that constantly inspires me to create art.
I don't have a lot of coherent thoughts on this but I think it's very interesting how Gen lets the people he wants to get to like him see him at his worst and most annoying, and how these people grow to like him anyway. It says a lot about how Gen sees himself, as well as the careful image he projects, because of course sometimes he is being intentionally annoying, but sometimes he is choosing to reveal the least likable aspects of himself to people who aren't very fond of him at the moment, but he does it so carefully that it works.
I mean I'm glad Eugenides won the war against the Medes and all but also I want to see that au where he goes all assassin revenge mode against the rulers of the Continent
Have some Eugeni-memes (eugenides memes???)
