This was definitely a fun read. I thought that Mrs. Rose was an interesting character to learn more about as the book went on and I really enjoyed reading the last third of the book as the action picked up. That being said, I did find the characterization somewhat shallow. Also I’m not always a huge fan of mysteries, which might be why I found the middle portion of the book a bit dull. And I did also find the main character naive to the point where it was annoying, but I’m sure other people would be fine with it. That being said, I enjoyed this book. I thought the speakeasy scenes were fun, the depiction of queerness in the ‘20s was pretty well-done, and the romance was cute. I would recommend this to those who enjoy mysteries more than I do.
