btw guys i know a lot of people are debating about who, if anyone, should be able to use the r-word but until society completely stops being ableist, i'm gonna keep using it... (as an autistic person)

when i call myself a retard, what i'm really saying is 'your rules clearly aren't made for me and now i look stupid.' that's how it is for a lot of people and we should be able to express that, and the reason we can't say it exactly how i put it is because many people don't take us seriously or just tell us to get over it.

when i call someone else a retard, which is hardly ever, i'm really saying 'are you humouring me?' it's a jab at myself because it's a me problem, like how fat people call skinny people fat, but it also puts into perspective how much disabled people need to constantly defend and prove themselves to work to an able-bodied/neurotypical standard. i'm not calling you stupid, i'm saying 'work harder,' which now you can see is just as hurtful when you're doing the best you can.

the word 'retard' started as a medical term, and it focussed on reducing disabled people to their impairments instead of criticising our exclusive society. so when i don't feel looked out for, i'm gonna remind you of what i am, what you are, and the distance we've created.

Theres this guy is watching on YouTube who makes like minecraft videos (he loves command blocks a LOT its a litle scary) called BlockerLocker and I realized today that he kinda sounds like Lohen from genshin and now I cant unhear it 😭

Its funny cause this guy is pretty chill and Lohen is like. Resident maniac. But i saw a video of BlockerLocker where he did this kind of giggle and it sounded like lohen and it was such a jumpscare for me
